  1. Just posting this in its proper place...

Bought a book (PLANET #52) from BATMANFAN, paid for it 4th Jan. Got a message back saying it would be shipped on the 5th Jan.

Nothing so far and the last message I sent last week asking about it has been unread by him.

Can I nominate him for the probation list then?

I think you should, see here:

  4. I received the Planet 53 really fast from the seller Batmanfan. I do agree that things got mixed up and muddled in the thread and let's hope that the seller can figure it all out for next time. He really did get a hazing in the thread and stuck it out...so let's hope that the next thread goes more smoothly. I was also a bit skeptical with all the confusion in the thread. I do want to say that I am happy with the Planet 53 I bought.

Hi Joanna. Hope you had a great holiday! Good to hear that you received the comic. That was quick too.

  5. Sorry I was MIA yesterday but I celebrate Christmas eve. It's the listing books without prices and then never returning until they were sold via PM that makes me go WTF. I thought every book had to have a price. Yes, it could be a mistake but someone did request a price and he never updated the thread. That is why I asked the question. Hope all turns out well.

    Happy holidays everyone.

  6. Appreciate the feedback. :foryou:

I know people will pay more for certain key issues that they need, but if I want to get rid of in bulk I am curious what % of cover or what price per issue is fair market value.

Unfortunately, I don't have any Harley Quinns or Batman Adventures. :sorry:

Sorry I did not realize you were looking for one-shot deals. I would try Craigslist as well but use a new email address as you will get spammed. I have purchased for several listing on craigslist this year and only sold one lot of comics but had to ship it. It's free so you really have nothing to lose. Set up a meeting place for the buyer to pick up the goods.

  7. Just my 2 ¢ but I am not an expert. I purchase comics new read the arc and then sell them to purchase the trade. Morrison's Batman can get more than a dollar an issue as well as Dini's issues on Detective.

Don't really know anything about Marvel issues though but have noticed that buyers are looking for cheap reads.

BTW - If you have Harley Quinns or Batman Adventures vol 2, PM me.

  8. Thanks, sckao. Is that the 3M removable tape? Someone told me that 3M makes a good tape as well. I am still tucking but it takes some time to get it just right and lay flat because the mylites are so much thicker than the cheapies.

Edit...I just saw the 3M logo. I am going to look for it at staples tomorrow.

  9. Michael, I treated myself to some mylite2s during Hotflips sale. I got the 725 and 700 halfbacks and love them. However, I noticed that the .20¢ are very tight in the 725s. Should I go up a size for those?

Also, I tuck in the flap on my cheapie bags and am doing the same with these. Does anyone have anyother suggestions for closing the flap?

  10. BZ, you collection is truly amazing. I was just told about this thread last week and have only made it through to page 183. Thank you for letting us into your life of comics. Not only have you shown us your wonderful collection but have taken the time to gives us history of your purchases.

You are like the Buffett of comics. I don't know if I will ever complete this thread but am quoting this little slideshow for newcomers like myself.

  11. Just for the record:

Here4Now is NOT waiting for any books, comics or supplies of any kind. He IS however waiting to recieve a refund for his $430.00 and change....END OF STORY!

HE IS WAITING!!!! Get out of my business Fuelman. Find something to do huh... your not in charge of it, or have anything to do with it.

Yes Russ, he is waiting...........for a refund of his $430.00 and that is ALL he is waiting for!!! You got that? Did you understand that? Can it be stated any clearer?

He isn't waiting for any books, supplies or comics. He wants a refund of his $430.00 and change. END OF STORY!

Well, no, he isn't getting a refund. He is getting the books because he preordered them.

He placed that order in December of last year. He's been more than patient regarding your incompetence and has requested a refund instead of the product. After waiting nearly 9 months, I think that request is more than reasonable and you now owe him a refund of $430 and change.

I have no fight in this but an innocent question. How is it possible that preordered in December are not published yet? I would think that anything preordered would be on Diamond's list which I thought was only 3 months in advance.

Over in the DC boards, a couple of posters will pull together a listing of books expected for releasing in the upcoming months but that list is highly speculative in nature and normally has 1 or 2 books that never even get published.

So Russ, where are you getting your pre-order information from?

BTW - I still cannot understand what you are attempting to gain here with your posts. As a buyer, I would never deal with a seller like yourself. You have revealed your true character within these post and I find it hard to understand how you are in business. There are only so many computer related excuses one can handle. Have you ever thought of doing some manual checking to find the errors?

  12. No. The thread was closed when the offer was made. He has made offers before on my books wihch I countered with another number, nothing ever culminating in a sale. He has been a member of the boards for 9 months but never has made a post. The PM was "would you take $X and $X for these 2 books". I responded with "one book is no longer available but I will take your offer on the other book". He read the response but now will not read any further PM's. I think he should at least get back to me one way or the other. I am in limbo with the book. Is it possibly sold or not, should I take it off the market until I hear back?

This is a different case then was I was thinking of but am still not sure if this is a probation offense either. It sounds like poor communication from the buyer's part. For me, I try to buy a few issues to save on shipping so perhaps, he was looking to only purchase the two together. I agree that you should start a new PM thread and see if you get a response. However, if another buyer comes along in the meantime, I wouldn't feel that the book is on hold.

  13. Here's my 2¢... The item is still active in your auction and available while the PMing is occuring. So it is still up for grabs and would not hold someone via a PM inquiry until they responded to your acceptance. With that said, personally, I would feel inclined to continue with the sale but that is just me.

He never really put up the I'll take it sign, did he?

  14. I found that using newspaper instead of a plastic bag is better for wrapping the books - it's much easier to remove the tape that has them held to the thick cardboard backer and you can just rip it off instead of the tape clinging to the plastic and maybe bending the book.

    Just my 2c

I have used both and the newspaper keeps the books bricked better too. You can always wrap it in plastic afterward for some type of water proofing.
