  1. Not sure where to post this but figured this was the place.

In SD Steve B. took Connor(CapFreak) under his wing, and as I understood it hooked him up with a hotel, passes etc.. Very nice thing to do...giving a kid a second chance because we all make mistakes.

Long Story short, Conner somehow got Steve's cell phone and left a less then desirable message on Steve outgoing voice mail. Why I do not know, but I do know it cost Steve dearly in terms of cleaning up the mess.

Connors parents were contacted and they pretty much did nothing.

If any of this is incorrect Conner please feel free to set me straight, otherwise take a hike.

Isn't this something Steve or Cap should be revealing vs. hearing it second hand on a public forum? Not trying to defend his actions, if true, but this doesn't seem to be one of those issues that should be exposed by anyone other than the original parties on a message board...

    Jim

I disagree. I'm glad Kenny posted it. It just reinforces the fact that Connor is a clueless little individual_without_enough_empathy that doesn't care about anybody else but himself. :sumo:

The story is true. He changed Steve's personal voice mail to an "F" bomb greeting.

Steve lost lots of business to Heritage because of that. It was a few days before SB realized what had Conner did. By then the damage was done.

I had questioned earlier if he had business dealing on that number. That really truly sucks.

I was curious if Connor showed up at any of the recent cons but did not want to dredge up the same old garbage. I don't understand why anyone is hell bent on giving this kid so many chances. Is it me or does anyone else see this as enabler behavior. No big surprise that his parents did nothing either.

I feel bad for Steve because it most likely cost him as he quite possibly uses the phone for business as well.

  3. If we have this sort material to be sold here, I still think it goes without saying (even though I'm saying it! ;) ) that covers still need to be censored appropriately (black bars as needed, etc).

Personally, I'm ok with that stuff being sold elsewhere but considering CGC is open to slabbing it, then I'm not sure it's out of line for those CGC items to be sold here. But it does need to be done tastefully.

And yeah, separate sub forum as I've only recently gotten my wife to be cool with my continuous browsing of this place. The LAST thing I need is for her to see my scanning For Sale threads to see me looking through a bunch of Playboys. And I considering the current format, I don't think it'd be out of line to to have a subforum for Adult Material ONLY. I'm here for comics... not for Playboys.

I just finally read these post and never knew that Playboy thread was such a big deal. I don't mind them being sold here at all but it does make sense for them to be in a sub form that is labeled adult content. I am sure that there are members here that do find this type of material offensive or don't want to expose their kids to it.

  4. Regardless of the intent, any guy that would strike a women is a low life. Now posting a pic of such does not bodes well in my book either. Kindly remove that pic as it is distasteful. Thank you.

What if the gal was kicking his azz? Would it be okay if the guy striked back?

I don't advocate physical violence of any kind. I don't want to come to a comic forum and be subjected to seeing a picture of a woman getting punched. I am a lover not a fighter, sorry.

  5. Here's my 2¢ for what it is worth... He should not be on the list until the 30 day mark. That is the rule of the list. Pitboss, while I can understand your frustration that was a deal that occurred outside of this board and does not apply to the rules here.

So unless someone else comes forward he still has one more week to make good on this transaction. Who knows he may hit the lottery.

He should be removed from the list for now. Divad, any thoughts?

  6. He wants us to create a decisive criteria to choose which records of probation should be completely eliminate and which should be kept around with easily ability to find.

Like my inability to pay for items in the past, and the time I failed to send people their books but repaid everybody

I haven't been repaid, nor had a response to my last PM. We're only talking $4.64 since but since you're claiming to have repaid everybody I thought I'd mention it.

    That's 2 non-refunds, plus 2 not-fully-refunded transactions (PayPal fees deducated from refund).

Connor must have lost track after all this time. Go figure!

So far, two people did not get repaid in the Cap_Freak disaster?

  7. So provide a decision mechanism of expunging the record versus simple reversal of status.

I made a few attempts at incorporating a probational record . . . but they didn't seem fair or accurate. The list must allow for an individual to make good and not carry a one or two-strike stigma for eternity. :(

However, I do feel that three strikes are inexcusable and establish a pattern and practice of carelessness (or recklessness) at best, and should provide auto-election into the Hall of Shame. :sumo:

David, do you not want to include historical data? Yes I understand how members may feel like it is a permanent strike against them but isn't that a good deterrent to make someone stop and think before entering into a transaction that they cannot afford or offering books that they may not have in their possession?

Should we run a poll over in General and see the outcome? I don't really know the answer here so I am looking for suggestions.

  8. I don't have a problem with him not paying if he was redeployed, but my question is, when you are redeployed, is it a surprise? Do you have only 24 hours notice?

Did he let people know? This thread is too convoluted for me to find it.

Someone I knew was in the reserves and he was called away and not given too much notice either. There are alot of personal affairs that need to be tended to and am sure that paying for a comic was at the bottom of the list.

  9. While I'm in here, I move that Chi Bamm be removed from any mention on the list.

If he was put on it because he was called to duty in Iraq, I care nothing about associating with anyone that insists the very mention of his name in this thread. That's probably the saddest thing I've ever heard of in my life.

    rantrant

Boy, you really need to get out more . . . Chi Bamm wasn't put on the list because he was called to duty, he was taken off the list because he was called to duty :makepoint: He hasn't been on the list since August 2007 and he was taken off the minute that was mentioned by anyone :sumo:

I suggest you actually read before you rantrant

The person who placed him on the list didn't know why he wasn't responding to PMs.

Once informed he and everyone agreed to remove him.

I believe Dice is saying his name being adding to the list was a accident and his name should not ever have been or ever be there.

Far be it from me to speak for the Dice man. :busy:

I was the person at the time who wanted him on the list before I found out he was called to duty and was unable to respond to PMs and send the book. I haven't been around much and am trying to catch up around here and saw this. I agree to permanently removing Chi from the list, He shouldn't have been put on there after the facts were laid out. I felt bad then and when I see it, I feel bad now. If I had known at the time he was called to duty and unable to respond I would have never asked for him to be put on the list.

It is noted that he was called for active duty. Just to play devil's advocate, what happens if the same scenerio repeats itself, at least someone will know that it is possible he was called again to duty.

If we keep picking and choosing who should stay on a history list, it makes the entire process invalid. I admit that one name was removed because to mark a personal notation of its kind would be cruel. But if someone falters and is put on the probation list, they should be added to the history list once removed. Again, these are only my opinions.

  10. Then keep me on the list to have him removed. He shouldn't be on it at all. :foryou:

    I'd agree with this.

The idea of keeping an active list of people who have been taken off the probation list because they came clean and handled their obligations seems petty to me. Maintain the list to identify repeat offenders, but if they did the time, continuing to punish them seems overly harsh, especially when one considers that no extenuating circumstances are mentioned in the listing as currently written

Does not seem petty to me at all! When I bid on ebay, I view a seller’s feedback and can make an educated decision at a single click (or two). Why, do I have to wad through hundreds of pages before discovering I should not have dealt with this seller?

I created the list for my own personal benefit because in a short period of time, I purchased from two members that were once on the list. Of course, the history of them on the list was completely buried or hidden because of name changes. I like and believe in full disclosure. Period.

Perhaps, you were never burned with an on-line purchase. But the idea of only tracking repeat offenders defeats the purpose. Isn't it better to be proactive and state up front that this person has had a problem in the past? Dates are provided and a buyer is free to search through the threads to read about an incident.

Diceman, I have no problem removing him for the history list but at the time of posting the original list everyone seemed fine with just adding a notation. There is someone else that got full removal from my list and it is due to a far worst incident, IMO. If a few people request Chi Bamm's removal from the history list by all means do so.

  12. Very nice, Count. :applause:

Although, officially CAP freak has only made the probation list 3 times, he has had dealings go sour before he changed his name twice. I would like to make sure this little bit of info isn't ignored.

Very sorry to anyone whos time I have wasted. I had every intention to pay all of you except that my fathers Paypal account was stolen and he has lost most of his money through that. I had and still have all of the I owe you guys for the comics I said that I said I was going to buy. I am hereby going to stop reading this site and ordering comics from you guys who were very nice to me

If you would like to yell at me or cuse me out here is my email address:

    See ya

Good ole CAP freak was screwing over folks from at least the ripe age of twelve. (thumbs u

While he has been in violation under a shill name, there was never an official request to add him to the list that I saw. Having said that I would add his two shill accounts under comments, CapandFalcon and Cap_santa (is that one right?)
