I love pics like this. They give you a lot of context for the rise of comics in the 30s/40s… and remind you that comics were a triumph of “format” (cheap, easily printed and distributed, disposable) as well as content.

I agree with the others as to what has happened to the books being horrible, but I guess I'm a half full guy.  I don't know Kenny - but obviously he's a stand up guy and has real skills.  I mean, to take these on pro-bono shows true class and caring for the community.  I also saw that he (or someone reponding) mentioned not to give up on trusting people, but of course protect yourself and your books.  Good life lesson for all of us even beyond funny books.

You and I seem to be tracking well against each other.
 
I started my Four Color TRADING Quest  about the same time you started, however mine are almost entirely from my original dealer stock  which had way less honey than yours ( less than 100 issues)  .  My goal includes not only the main series, but the First series  AND the missing Four Colors as well.  I recently completed another trade with MCS  and have 6 more books on the way including 2 each from regular series as well as First and Missing's.  With the FS5 and 15 I am only down to #'s 4 and 7  to complete that run   and only 31  from the main series.

Cool books. Makes me remember when I was young and watched The Wonderful World of Color Sunday nights on TV. All those Disney live action shows. I bought a lot of those US version comics and still do from time to time. A few years later I was watching Ed Sullivan waiting for the British Invasion rock bands to come on and pizz off my dad…

Start paying more for restored books.

Disagree. The 10 point grading scale makes no sense if 9.8 is the highest. FWIW, I think that it would have been much more consistent to have 9.0, 9.5 and 10.0 - where 9.0 includes today's 9.2, 9.5 = 9.4 and 9.6 and 10.0 = 9.8, 9.9 and 10.0 (And get rid of 1.8 while we're at it.)
Of course, there's less money in the whole business of grading if you do that, which is why they don't.

Covers and the Main Feature. There are some reprint books available. I like his work in Animal Comics a bit more but the Our Gang stories are quite good at times.
