  1. Though I leave it in the safe year round, I do think the Eva-Dry is only needed in the summer months. I've always found that the climate inside the safe somewhat mirrors the climate in the room. It seems like you have validated this. I leave an ash tray with some vintage staples in the safe and check them occasionally. I think I am going on about 5 years with these staples and they look fine. I know I feel comfortable saying a gun safe is fine for your comics.
  2. I agree, the stain on the BC is not good. CGC hammers stains. It's still a hot book that I think is worth submitting. Other than the stain, the Back cover looks pretty clean = I don't think it needs to be dry cleaned. You stated it is already flat, so I don't think a press will help much, if at all.
  3. In honor of Page 106, here's my copy.............
  4. IMO, they don't need the business. They are barely keeping up with their current submissions. Having said that, CGC is very good at getting things resolved. They step up to the plate and accept responsibilty. I don't believe he would actually wait as long as stated. That was just a quote from their current timelines from someone answering the phone. I believe he would see it a lot quicker.
  5. I may be mistaken but prices seem pretty soft. All the higher grade ASM 129's sold well under GPA. My Spidey Sense is telling me the market is soft and the taxes don't help. I did win this.........
  6. Not quite. Here's on of my favorite Flash covers ........................
  7. Are we there yet, to page 105 ? I'm ready to post !
  8. I still don't understand what the heck is being discussed in this thread. Can someone translate this for me. 'I meant they take however long to verify it is certified I bealive.'
  9. Anybody ever see the Seinfeld episode where Kramer tries to claim a 100 reward because he was greeted with a 'Hey' as oppossed to the stated 'Hello' . They gave him 20 bucks claiming 'Hey' is a form of 'Hello'. This is my question. Is any form of acceptable ? IMO, it should not. Pretty soon just saying 'T' will be okay.
  10. I do understand that. I just don't understand how it answers my question. But I do appreciate the response !
  11. While looking at some new sales threads I must ask the question.... How can a book with a hard color breaking corner crease, covering half the width of the book, be graded a 7.5 ? Raw.
  12. I see nothing but the general E-Bay page when clicking on your link.
  13. Also, how can a seller say the timestamp rules when the current website does not support the exact time stamp ? Board sales threads are getting cutthroat lately. The 'Rules' should be more clarified. I still don't know if a Qualified holds the book or a straight takes priority. And don't say whatever the seller decides because that's not how it's supposed to work.
  14. Serious question here. In light of the lightning round action in many sales threads, the difference in simply saying 'Take' as opposed to clicking on the emoticon could be a second or two difference. So, does a trump a 'Take'
  15. What's the deal with the giant fingerprint I know I'm only looking at a small section of the comic, but I would suggest returning this book and getting your money back. Sorry.
  16. As a collector, everything in my collection means something to me. Unfortunately, to the dealer it will just be a commodity to move. Whenever I sell something from my collection, I usually try to offer it to the person/dealer I bought it from first. I'm not sure what I would do if I had to sell my whole collection. I would probably hang on to my top 50, 100 favorites and then just everything else go. I hear what you are saying about finding a fellow collector and sell it more reasonably but I suspect it is easier said then done. I like the topic, it's refreshing to know there are collectors like you out there, however it's not an easy question to answer.
  17. Can we see a close up of the label ? I can't read much on it from these pics. Sorry.
  18. I was not aware of this. Maybe that's why there are so many one and done accounts. They ask some ridiculous question or post some insane complaint with their 2 posts and never come back.
  19. Note Foolkiller's purchases. I think the pendulum may be swinging back to DC ! BTW, I liked the Lois Lane pickup.
  20. In general, I don't think it is a good idea to display CGC books. They are not UV protected and it will affect the cover colors.
  21. Yes, I think you need to find out if HA sent it to CGC in the slab. This is important. If CGC received it in the slab, there may be some liability on their part for missing it the first time around. In any case, I would lean on HA to make things right for you. You paid your 20% Buyer's premium. Time to get some customer service back from them. A trimmed book is much less desirable than a Color touched book.
