  1. The Twilight Zone addressed contemporary social issues of its day as did EC. The TV series had similar short, critical, but generally very well-written stories using a similar formula, without needing to be a blatant copycat. So, the formula could also be adapted, progressively, to our current mix of social issues and phobias, as could modernising the graphical presentation, all rather than being superglued to the past.
  2. Today on Apple News an article was posted on this very subject that was written by a BBC journalist back in 2021. So, I was somewhat behind the curve, anyway. (In their general film article section. I’m not obsessed.)
  3. Wolverine versus his arch enemy, Gandalf. An obvious criticism.
  4. Looks like a perfectly harmless, trustworthy bunch. Good art there from Dustin Weaver.
  5. Only time I read this was as a reprint in an issue of Squa Tront, the EC fan publication.
  6. Now providing a blatant excuse to bend the rules to breaking point and post one of my all-time top 10 covers…
  7. My two favourite star field covers from the series, a Starlin classic and an excellent, often-overlooked Wrightson-inked cover, and another which actually has The Moon on it.
  8. I think it was inevitable as the lunar opportunities started to dry up.
  9. Now veering off into one of my actual favourite cover themes, star field covers.
  10. Yup. It was on the LCS shelves for absolutely ages in the 80s, big print run. I'm sure it was bought as multiples by many collectors / speculators at the time.
  11. Yup. I'd already posted Shock SuspenStories 6, so I decided to stay clear of Schomburg's infamous Suspense Comics cover.
  12. For me, one of the best closing monologues in movie history.
