  1. Zabu’s presence is quite clear.
  2. Not the best drawing of a cat I’ve ever seen.
  3. Just about to say. Domestic size only.
  4. Yup. Any great cats should be excluded. Too easy.
  5. Fantagraphics, so it might have a small press, indie feel going for it. Nonetheless, there's no excuse for bad photo referencing.
  6. I found out a few years later in my teens, but I couldn’t erase the image I’d already formed in my head.
  7. As a kid I always thought the Scarlet Pimpernel sounded like a character with badly inflamed acne.
  8. Really pleased it worked out so well for you. I've also noticed that you have some weights ready, visible in the background, to press out any defects in the remaining 10 %.
  9. Yup. It was often described as schizophrenia at the time, but it’s more accurately multiple personality disorder. I did think something similar when I read it, that the switching seemed a bit too comfortable and relaxed.
  10. 52 was a very good read throughout. Countdown started okay but went downhill fairly quickly. Bought all of 52 back then, started getting a bit bored with Countdown after 10 issues or so and dropped it.
  11. I’d be concerned about getting mixed in with something. The safer, limited version involves line of sight.
  12. Yup. Old topic, again. Same ending and continuation.
  13. I can believe it. It’s the kind of book that might be appreciated by someone with a sense of humour. Interesting, ridiculous concept. I’d have gone for it.
  14. Nothing like starting with one of the classics.
  15. Once you adjust to the procedural dialogue it’s involving enough throughout. It’s often compared to The West Wing, but I haven’t seen that series at all, so my analogy was Law and Order, which has the same type of debating on moral and political issues. I suppose I appreciated it for being something different to a generic slugfest comic. The final issue is a bit strange, as Mitch’s character changes quite jarringly.
  16. Ex Machina 1 to 50, and Ex Machina Specials 1 to 4 Liked it. A lot of discussion about political issues of the time, some of which have shown progress in the intervening two decades, but that’s always a risk with the relevance type of comic book, as with Green Lantern back in the 70s. Still, I found Vaughan’s dialogue very engaging throughout, and there’s lots of great art from Tony Harris, Chris Sprouse, and John Paul Leon. Well worth reading. 2023 total = 96
  17. Then again, we are talking about a comic book probability superpower, and so it doesn't need to follow real world mathematics and play out by those rules.
  18. Perhaps read his Superboy's Legion next ?
