  1. Professor X in a helicopter, out of picture, dropping The Beast down on a swing?
  2. This just gets better and better ! Not only will I get to live in a utopian society, but I’ll also earn a promotion and respect.
  3. An all-too-common dumb, often suicidal move in many forms of retail; a quick kill rather than considering the more lucrative long-term relationship with the customer, and the possibility that the customer might react aggressively and pull the plug rather than sheepishly capitulate. I've done the same as you on several occasions.
  4. I have to admit that I was surprised that, even though I'm a Limey foreigner, I'm apparently still eligible for a place in Caltopia.
  5. I bought all of the Superman titles at the time because they were enjoyable reads, as were the Batman titles. My LCS did come through in selling me two copies at cover price. Amongst many gimmicky 90s comics, it was one of the better; still an okay read and at least up to the standard of the earlier material written by Dan Jurgens.
  6. Although I’m a huge EC fan, some of the books, especially the horror and crime stories, were quite formulaic, and those maybe would’ve become a bit tiresome and repetitive after a couple more years. That said, the New Trend was still going strong, pre-Code, and I do wish there’d been more.
  7. Fewer limited variants, control the number of and the frequency of title reboots back to #1, recruit the talent to produce more quality art and stories, or will it be business as usual?
  8. Nice camera. I still have my Pentax ME Super, which I bought back in 1982.
  9. Yup. The Goth look was brilliant. As a Brit, I thought the accent was a bit exaggerated, but she was excellent as Hela.
  10. Kyle and Jost are two of my favourite modern comic book writers. Impressed that they can also create such a great film screenplay as well.
  11. I forgot about the non-Code approved, relevance storyline.
  12. Yup. When I saw the thread title, at first I thought it was about an obscure Giant-Man mini-series in which he temporarily replaced Iron Fist.
  13. That’s actually a protective symbol. Interesting idea. Reminds me of the olden days when we were a much smaller, cult-like hobby; as I said once, when a secret gesture was required to enter a hall of sacred pamphlets, such as the original Forbidden Planet, back when you could feel alternative, misunderstood, marginalised.
  14. Recently I read this very interesting series as well, which goes up to the mid-1970s ... l
  15. They'd probably turn him into Marvel's version of Terra Man ; an 'update' with a metal robot horse and laser six-shooters. Sadly.
  16. Yup. Difficult to get any illegal activity past the Canadian Mounted Police. Even in England their reputation is legendary.
  17. I admire collectors who have the patience and focus to put together such long runs. I have neither of those qualities.
  18. Wonder who this could be? Judging by the use of metric measurement, possibly some competitor in Europe , or maybe Canada?
  19. That's an interesting idea after enjoying his work on Fantastic Four; the more down-to -earth family dynamic vs. some big-scale, cosmic storylines.
