  1. Sinestro Corps War is some of Geoff Johns' best work. With great battle scenes.
  2. I've never seen him. Silveracre used to do the marts all the time - London, Leeds etc but stopped some years back I assume they stopped as unlikely to be very profitable Ah, I haven't attended a northern (Golden Orbit ) comic mart since 2006, and so I'm out of touch. Thanks. Has it really been 10 years?
  3. Trotter's ... sorry, start again... Daryl's Independent Grading. One for the Brits. You're welcome.
  4. Having experienced Daryl's idea of 'strict' raw NM / M, which covers a generously-wide spectrum, expect quite a few gift grade 9.8s .
  5. If he's lurking on the boards I'm sure he'll be flattered to read all of the optimistic and supportive words that have been posted so far, here in this thread.
  6. He's still in business and thriving after 3 decades or so, which sadly proves there are.
  7. ......waaay to near to silveracre for my liking If I recall correctly, Deva House is his comics warehouse location. I felt a chill as soon as I saw that.
  8. I've never been able to afford a copy of either, so whichever has had the higher price at a certain point in time or how that fluctuated has never been of any practical importance to me; only the character I'm most interested in. The impoverished and geekish interpretation, I suppose.
  9. Captain America has always been one of my favourite characters, ever since I read a British black-and-white reprint of Avengers 4 in the early 70s. So, Captain America Comics 1 always appealed to me much, much more as an ultimate (unattainable) grail key. Regardless of historical significance, Marvel Comics 1 has always left me cold in a direct comparison as I don't have anywhere near the same level of emotional connection to the characters inside. Very nice-looking book in hand, though.
  10. Still not as bad as cannibal Blob from Ultimatum. But, undoubtedly craptastic.
  11. Extremely overrated. Hush was okay, though. Ultimatum wasn't.
  12. That's interesting. I didn't know that Romita spent so long at DC, only being familiar with his early work for Atlas / Marvel.
  13. Or it can be OCD rather than hierarchical, with the former being my prime motivation.
  14. I only watch them on Blu-ray now. Civil War next. So, a long way behind, all the time.
  15. If George Herriman had been an underground artist. All I can think when I look at that panel.
  16. which title? Jimmy Olsen or Forever People 1? JO 134 Thought FP 1 is his first appearance? No. There's a crudely-drawn Darkseid head in a tiny panel. Thrilling stuff.
  17. In Andrew's Photobucket account the image is called 'Bike', and so I made the assumption that the actual focal point of this work of art is, in fact, the bicycle. Your eyes are certainly drawn to it, showing that even if you go to a place such as Halfords you can still find items with tremendous aesthetic quality.
  18. Superb. The way the artist has carefully positioned the bicycle in relation to the figures is really quite exceptional.
  19. A fairly expensive book for 1976.
