  1. Venditti's a good writer. I enjoyed his X-O Manowar run.
  2. An extremely talented writer. I've just finished The Vision and I'm part way through The Omega Men. Looking forward to reading Sheriff of Babylon after that.
  3. I never realised that Peter drew the title for so long. Interesting to see that, unlike many artists who started in the Golden Age and continued on later, his artwork didn't really evolve much at all and appears extremely dated - even for the period we are looking at here.
  4. It was interesting to watch it once in IMAX 3D but, in my case, too disorienting to repeat the experience. 2D Blu-ray next time.
  5. I tried to play Dishoned. I just couldnt get into it. Not into the Thiefing/Sneaky games It can be played more aggressively. I'm currently playing Splinter Cell : Blacklist. Excellent so far.
  6. Probably this, NM condition, publisher file copy...
  7. ...The Michael Golden classic, Doctor Strange # 55 is a good place to start..... GOD BLESS.... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) hey, along this line, what are the best TPBs to buy of Strange? The black-and-white Essentials contain all the Lee / Ditko, Thomas / Colan, Englehart / Brunner and Stern / Rogers / Golden / Smith issues, but I’d rather read the material in colour because of its surrealistic quality and prefer the trade paperback Masterworks. There’s also a new Bronze Age Epic collection.
  8. Easy. The Avengers destroy his chair, and he launches a counterattack against them in the Copter.
  9. Absolutely. Did you enjoy the movie Paul? First super-hero film I’ve been to watch in 2 years. Really enjoyed it, though a little disorientating in parts in Imax 3D. Can’t complain, though, as there was enough forewarning about that here on the boards.
  10. She’s quite glacial, ethereal-looking. For me, cast very well in the role.
  11. Yup. I can imagine the next Mile High newsletter : Just been watching Dr Strange on Imax 3D and, as we used to say, back when I discovered the Edgar Church collection, it blew my mind. Afterwards, I dropped some peyote and went on a week-long vision quest across the Rocky Mountains. I fondly recall a debate I had there with some eight-foot-tall woodchucks about the nature of reality itself.
  12. I've just thought of an interesting, analytical side project for Nick / Bosco, which follows on from a post I made in the Water Cooler thread. Factoring in population differences, can you see a significant increase in ticket sales for Dr Strange, especially Imax 3D, in the US states which have legalised cannabis? Something a bit different, anyway.
  13. I don't believe he's going to get anywhere near completing his ambitious goal. There's the limiting time factor; he isn't young anymore, no spring Chuckles.
  14. He doesn't seem to have made that much progress since I used to buy from him in the early 90s, with numerous books out of stock across grades. At least back then he had some interesting, high grade and cheap books in his mail order catalogue's Specials section.
  15. It has opened in the UK. Too busy for me during school half-term week.
  16. "Canon" or not this represents the best Thanos tale ever written! It is quirky and fun.
  17. I watch super-hero films on Blu-ray now, but, I have to admit, this is the first time I've been tempted to go to the cinema since GOTG, and to an Imax 3D showing.
  18. Having attention deficit I'm lucky if I can stay focused over an entire one hour show. I tend to watch in 20-30 minute sections and then break, doing something else. I also tend to rewatch with subtitles, not just because my hearing has been shot to pieces by listening to too much metal down the years, but also because it allows me to absorb details that I missed previously and spot foreshadowing. I'm quite happy to wait until it appears on TV, episode by episode, or work very, very slowly through a box set.
  19. The effects certainly deserve a high-quality 3D conversion. Although, potentially quite overwhelming.
  20. There are a few astronomy fans over in the Water Cooler that should've got this more or less immediately, myself included. But, for me, not at 2am UK time.
  21. Boardies should give the Ultimate Edition a try. A far superior version.
  22. Starlin did some really excellent new covers for those books. Worth having.
