Great-looking books. This and the Avengers 93 I posted a few pages back are my favourites in the Kree-Skrull War storyline run. Brilliant artwork. I'll see if I can post a scan of my issue 96, 9.4, White pager sometime.

I think what amuses me the most here is that it was a real-life 'Comic Book Guy' moment.

Yes, reprints of their early work. Jones, Kaluta, and Wrightson. I haven't seen a copy of this book since it was first published. I remember at the time asking the owner of the LCS if there was any new material in it at all, and he just sneered down at me and said, very condescendingly, 'Of course there isn't, that's why it's called 'Deja Vu' - already seen, all reprint - don't you understand?' Oh, sorry, pardon me for asking. Real nice guy.

However, it's really not quite that important to me, so if you want, award the No Prize to Joey.

I did a quick scan down the last page to see which images had been claimed, and it seemed to be just the Sub-Mariner cover, duplicated. I then went back and did the western-looking one independently - without noticing Joe had tried to claim it. So, I spent some time working the answer out from first principles. But, I did have a bit of a guilt trip later when I noticed what had happened -a while after posting.

One of my favourite Bronze Age and Neal Adams books. Presents more like a strong 9.4

So you can imagine how pleased I am to own a copy of this.

This is the grail book for Richard Corben collectors.

I wasn't sure about that one, but I'd spent quite enough time on the puzzle and Fear 9 looked closest. Thanks for the info and the page from the 50s comic. I collect the Atlas Era Marvel Masterworks and Joe Maneely is one of the best artists in these books.

I've not seen those for a while. Secrets of the Unknown was published by a UK company called Alan Class Comics, which specialised in b/w reprints of American comics. I remember having the Captain Atom issue as a kid back in the 70s.

All right, Wise Guy... what's the deal? Either you are the Ultimate Comic-Book Geek or you're a member of the UK MI5 Code-Breaking Image Reconstruction Team. In any event, you score again! The image suggests jungle background and tiger stripes, but it's not going to be as easy as being from an actual tiger, which rules out Ka-Zar as an immediate go-to. Then, the most obvious contenders are other picture frame jungle comics, and so I'm directed straight to Shanna 1. To begin with, completely in the dark, for all I knew it could have been an out-of-place section from a super-hero cover.
