  1. With comicopolis I get a 'service unavailable' message. That's on iPad.
  2. The Englehart / Rogers Bronze Age Batman stories from Detective Comics. The Batman : Strange Apparitions trade is out of print. Personally, I would try to find a five issue run of the 'Shadow of the Batman' reprint comic book, done in the 80s. I had a look online, it's still cheap.
  3. That's a great book, arguably even more relevant now because of the Damian Wayne retcon.
  4. DC are starting to reprint the 'Batman Illustrated by Neal Adams' books in trade paperback format. However, many don't like Adams' remastering of his original art. An earlier trade reprint of the O' Neil / Adams Ra's Al Ghul storyline.. 'Batman : Tales of the Demon'
  5. Great deal there. The Tales to Astonish 29 has what's easily my favourite Marvel SF / monster comic cover. One day I will have a copy.
  6. I've just picked up the previous game, Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition, for 15 quid. Like I've said before, that far behind in my gaming.

  8. First Silver Age comic I ever found, while on holiday at the seaside in the mid-70s. Fond memories of this one.
  9. Sounds as bad as that Birmingham show I went to a couple of years ago (BICS).
  10. Thanks . I'll have a read up of some reviews about that one. Doubt I'll buy it in the near future, though. Enough material to work my way through, for now.
  11. Only got a PS3 last November. Still to play... - Red Dead Redemption : Game of the Year Edition - GTA 4, and Episodes From Liberty City - Uncharted 2 - Mass Effect 2 - Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 I'll be adding Infamous 2 and Uncharted 3 to the stash soon. I think I may be okay for quite a while then.
  12. I'm so far behind I haven't even played Batman : Arkham Asylum yet.
  13. Can it be better then Arkham City? I've just finished 'Infamous'. Enjoyed it. GTA-styled sandbox exploration, third-person shooter, super-hero / villain with a range of electrically-based powers, and lots of wall crawling.
  14. +1 While it's true that the early 100 pagers are reprint books, for a lot of us who started reading comics and collecting in the 70s there's something quite magical about them. The last one I purchased was a 9.4 Adventure Comics 416, always quite a tough book to find in grade in the UK. That's a reprint book, but nonetheless it's an extremely valued addition to my collection.
  15. My favourite Neal Adams book. Some truly exceptional artwork. Finally got a copy, with the presentation I like the most...
  16. Thanks Kenners, to elaborate, Fantastic was a weekly comic published by Odhams in the late sixties, it reprinted early Marvel stories, x-men, Thor, Iron man etc, they also published three annuals, 1968, 1969 and 1970, just missed out on the 1970 when I got this one. They are all hard to find in nice shape. 'Fantastic' and 'Pow!' were the books that first introduced me to American super-hero comics. Lot to answer for there.
  17. Glad you like it. I thought that maybe my book would be a bit mundane and obvious for the specialist Picture Frame collectors here. Agree with it being a great cover, with very dynamic composition. Also, as you know, it was inked by Bill Everett, which fits in really well with the GA Timely theme.
  18. Nice book. I have it in a Brave and Bold 100 pager, always thought the Murphy Anderson art was exceptional, and features the GA Doctor Fate. Sells it for me. Should get a HG original myself.
  19. Well done! It's superb. I've always liked that cover, a lot.
  20. I was lucky to have been in London when the comic shops were at their peak, mid 80s to early 90s. I don't bother visiting them anymore when I'm down there.
