  1. Bummer, Dave. Any ERB left? Hey, now at least we can bid on the Doc Savage and Weird Tales issues!
  2. Whoever it is, they've won an impressive number of big ticket lots.
  3. Yeah...especially the Astounding Stories set...I was hoping to bid on the Lovecraft issues if they came up individually.
  4. Dwight -- is there any way to tell when a lot has reached its reserve price in the Robinson auction?
  5. Got my Robinson auction catalog in the mail! Anybody else get their copy yet? Now I guess we just wait and see if those mega-lots meet their six-figure reserves or not...
  6. There's a dealer in Canada named Doug Sulipa who may be able to help you here. He wrote a little piece for the Warren Companion (published by Twomorrows a fear years back) about collecting Warren magazines. Contact him through his website -- http://www.dougcomicworld.com/
  7. Check out Rufus Dayglo: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=578 www.artdroids.co.uk Good luck! Thanks, Nexus!
  8. Can anyone comment on the availability of OA from the British comic book 2000 A.D., specifically the early 80s period? How is the market for this material? Is the demand far greater than the supply? Is much of it even around (meaning, not destroyed, lost, etc.)? What about the covers? We all know that alot of superstar artists cut their teeth on 2000 A.D. -- Brian Bolland, Kevin O'Neill, Dave Gibbons, Glen Farby, Simon Bisely, etc., etc. And then there's the whole Alan Moore/Grant Morrison/Neil Gaiman thing as well, which, I think, would also increase demand. Personally I'm also a big fan of Gibson, Ezquerra and Belardinelli. Finally, can anyone recommend any British (or European) OA sellers who deal in 2000 A.D. artwork?
  9. Side question: would a complete pulp run attract the attention of a flipper, or someone who would break it up in hopes of further profit?
  10. +1. Apparently some folks have asked John at Adventure House to give them a crack at buying the complete sets. I understand auctioning a collection of this size is a tremendous amount of work, and offering complete sets is a time-saver. But, I am disappointed by this. I was really hoping to be able to bid on specific issues of these two titles (DS & WT). John did tell me that the reserve on the complete sets is fairly high, and that if the lots fail to meet reserve they will be broken down into smaller lots and auctioned again. Unfortunately for me, even a smaller, high grade lot may end up going for well out of my MANNUP price range. Well, enough sour grapes. I can't wait to see all the great material for sale!
  11. So...you guys want to talk about the upcoming Robinson auction in this thread, or should we start a new one?
  12. Hey, Matthew -- How about a thumbnail gallery of all the covers so far?
  13. I'm pretty sure there's going to be a copy in the upcoming Robinson auction over at Adventure House.
  14. It's too late....you can never leave this place. Leave your sanity at the door. You can stab it with your steely knives but you just can't kill the Beast! Sorry...I couldn't help myself...
  15. Cool room! So...do you drink a lot of Dr. Pepper and start smashing comics with your sledgehammer?
  16. If all original a loose fig sells for $75-150 depending on condition...typical mib runs $200-500 and depending on whether a 75 or 79 card can be $500-1000+ carded Thanks, Gator! Is there a "modern" reproduction of this figure, like with some of the other Megos?
  17. Gator -- What do you think is the FMV of a Conan Mego figure -- MISB/MIB MOC MLC Thanks!
  18. Hello, Gator -- What's the market like for Kurtzman-era Mads these days? Has the never-ending flow of reprints dulled demand for this great title? Have the Gaines file copies reduced all other copies (for the sake of investment purposes) to mere toilet paper? What would be considered an "investment" grade for Mad comics at this moment in time? Thanks!
  19. Thanks, maloney414! That's alot of printings! Does anyone know what a first printing sells for?
