  1. FWIW, doing the above might cause a crease or ripple to form on the card, depending on how old the card is and the type of surface/inks used.
  2. Green CSG 9.5 can be label swapped for black CSG 10.
  3. No, it's clear that a card that looks like a pen was dropped onto it shouldn't have a 8.5 grade.
  4. Send it back for a grade review. They'll lower it for you.
  5. CSG 9 got me 5 points. Bowman Sterling.
  6. No. CSG is notoriously tough on surface. Those specks would be enough to get a surface grade of 5.
  7. BTW, the right edge on the back looks chipped.. Can't say for certain due to the flash and out of focus photo.
  8. You could send it back to Topps. There's still time.
  9. For what it's worth... I often throw those away... That said, how magnified is that?
  10. Do Pristine 10 and Gem Mint 10 cards have different scores? I noticed you only mentioned the 9.5s.
  11. That sounds like the Ichiro Suzuki Hawaii Winter Baseball card. Some guy printed a bunch of them in 2001, after Ichiro was named MVP & ROY. He back dated the cards to 1993. He, rather brilliantly in retrospect, simultaneously released a 2001 "reprint" at the same time. PSA, BGS, and even CSG grade them as 1993 cards, but they are fully unlicensed and created in 2001. It's funny how scammers keep using the same scam and get away with it!
  12. I had two 9 with subs sent in for label correction. One came back 9 (9.5 was edges), and the other came back 9.5 (9.5 centering and edges). So, maybe, just maybe, 9.5*2/9*2 green end up as 9.5 black.
  13. There might be something as silly as a fingerprint on the card. Hard to say without photos.
  14. Beckett compiles sales records. If you own the only one and never sold it, there is no record to start from.
  15. Okay, so CSG finished my submission that was received on 16 May... but that pesky 20 April one is in limbo... did someone lose or damage the cards?
  16. I think the 7.5 is fair. The skintone areas seem to exhibit greening, there is an apparent vertical refractor line (and a shade of a horizontal one), and the L/R centering looks 67/33. Is the reverse centering closer to 80/20?
  17. Yes, grade KDB. As for time... prepare to get it back in Dec, and be happy when you get it back in Oct.
  18. That may have been an old SGC green flip.
  19. If you paid the subgrades fee when you had it originally graded, just tell them to refund you for failure to render service. If you bought the card with subgrades, not much you can do.
  20. You need to request the credit. I explained that in my response.
  21. How is it that Mark Messier and Joe Sakic don't have player sets?
