  1. Cool Marvel merch, BlueChip. Now, if someone wants to cite the original comic that each of these images was taken from, they're even a bigger comic nerd than I am!
  2. Finally another hit! You're in Two-Gun Kid #79, on the Bullpen Bulletins page with 24 fellow Marchers. Most of the online "read comics for free" sites have this entire issue including ad pages, so check it out!
  3. I've been going to Eckman's shows for YEARS! Admission is cheap, and the focus is on collecting, not so much guests or cosplay. For this show I'm actually renting a space to sell some of my own collection -- mostly Amazing Spider-Man 125-400 and Savage Sword of Conan. (Or is it The Amazing Conan and Savage Sword of Spider-Man? I always get those guys confused.)
  4. Another great thread, Straw-Man! I'm waiting for someone to really push the envelope with a Groovy #1.
  5. Sorry it took so long to reply, Bill, since I haven't checked in on this thread for a while. I'm often discouraged by how many names I'm asked to look up that did NOT get published. Alas, yours didn't appear either, Bill, and we're now at 7 hits out of 23 requests since I finished this and posted it nearly three years ago. Since I've catalogued 11,000+ names, does that mean there were over 40,000 MMMS members? Can that be right? Anyway, I'm happy to check these things out, and to bump the thread! PM me, boardies, if you have a similar request.
  6. My OO copy! Nice flat front cover but a fair amount of waviness at top of back cover. As photos show, this doesn't extend to front cover (or first half of interior pages). No visible water damage staining. So while you're at it, please advise on whether a press would help. Thanks!
  7. Gotta say, that's about the most unnoticeable tape pull you'll ever see . . . GLWTS!
  8. IVRIMARK'S POST-VCC SALE COMPLETISTS, ASSEMBLE! This batch of miscellaneous low-grade goodies was up for for grabs at last week's Virtual Comic Convention, now available to all who couldn't attend. There's a fair number of Dell/Gold Key TV comics, as well as the usual silver-age Marvels that I toss out there, and an old promo from 1950. Just click on the thumbnails for a larger image, and let me know if you want a back-cover scan. This sale will run through Thursday, Nov. 11th. Payment: PayPal or Money Order, within 7 days of purchase. Shipping: U.S. shipping is simple -- $5.00 for any number of comics! Sales to Canada will be whatever the exact postage is. Other: No sales to anyone in the Hall of Shame or on the Probation list. Returns: Returns accepted within 14 days of the sale date, and your payment will be refunded immediately, assuming book is in the same condition. Starting off with that old promotional comic: This was issued in 1950 by the New York State Department of Mental Hygiene, featuring Chic Young's Blondie. Not terribly rare; this copy is in 5.0 condition with supple pages, clean staples, no tears (the vertical scratch in the middle of the FC bottom edge is not a tear). Price: $8. 9. I've put up plenty of odds-and-ends comics on ebay over the years, but this one's a pretty unusual one that's worth posting about here. Check it out! https://www.ebay.com/itm/154584175376
  10. per PM, Justice League issues 8, 28, 38, 40, 44, 46, 49, 50, 73 and 78.
  11. My Gov. Greg Abbott can't wait to bid on that Daredevil #11 -- "A Time to Unmask!"
  12. I've PM'ed you. Meanwhile, welcome to the Boards, which is one of my great "time-wasters". You'll find a generally friendly and helpful vibe here, and a ton of knowledge and interesting information among its members.
  13. Nice to see that "Ron Hodgen" did indeed have his name published. Pemart1966, I can answer both your curiosity questions together: Ron would have had to look through every different Marvel title each month, because indeed the lists were different in each comic. By my count, 493 different comics published from 1965-1968. In a very few cases, maybe a half-dozen, the exact list of 25 repeated in a different title on sale around the same time. But there are MANY names that appeared in different lists over the years -- some members were in 6 or 8 different comics!
  14. Haven't checked in on this thread for a while, so here's a belated answer to the question about girls in the MMMS. Again, the caveat: the published lists represent only a fraction of the true number of members ("Richard Cohen" is unpublished, for example). Nevertheless, Maureen, Denise, Lucy, Debra, Cyndi and Elizabeth are in the first 400 names -- not many. I do NOT have access to any of the girls' titles so I don't even know if the 25 MMMS members were even published in those books. Any help would be appreciated! That would be Millie the Model 130-158, Modeling With Millie 39-54, Patsy and Hedy 100-110 and Patsy Walker 121-125.
  15. Interesting thread! I'd like a dinner with Matt Baker, ca. 1950, and ask if he felt there was much racial discrimination in the industry then. I'll pass on a freebie, unless you wanna toss in a Wertham first edition. . .
  16. More interest in a single letter than I got for my whole VCC booth. Make it four replies now!
  17. Great save, Diamonddave! Hats off to you and to Comcav and ABizzner for helping out.
  18. Not that there's much competition, but this is the best thing I've seen in 2020.
  19. And thanks, Frisco, for expanding on your October 2019 post here to include the cool covers! How do you say "Make Mine Marvel!" in Spanish?
  20. As I PM'ed, poor Jim E3 is not immortalized on the hallowed pages. But at least you can sleep better at night, I hope. As was established on the first page of this thread, getting your name published was very hit or miss. Mostly miss, from the queries I've gotten. The hits include guys who are in six or seven different issues!
