  1. I have another small assortment of BIN offerings on ebay this week: low-grade silver-age Marvels, a coupla others Click on the link to the Avengers comic, and check out "seller's other auctions" as well. Thanks for looking, and happy hunting! -- Mark https://www.ebay.com/itm/Avengers-42-in-GVG/153029996112
  2. Can't wait to see the feedback this time -- it sold again for $200+
  3. Skyjuice, looks like your Fantacy is back! And at a fraction of the $800 it fetched the first time around. https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Amazing-Fantacy-Spider-man-15-/273011623924?
  4. Is "Operation Blue Santa" just an Austin (Texas) thing? Every year starting on Oct/Nov the city police and a boatload of volunteers collect donated (new) presents, wrap 'em, box 'em up, and distribute them to needy families. Today was distribution day! Always fun to carry a big box up to someone's door and see the kids peeping out from behind a skirt, wondering "where did this guy come from, and what's in that big box for me?" Don't have a picture of me in action, but I got a sticker (and a free doughnut). I ate the doughnut, but here's a pic of the sticker, with an appropriate comic in the background. 'Tis the season, indeed. But Claudio's right -- make that Spirit of Giving last 365 days a year. Thanks for reminding us, Robot Man!
  5. Back cover of Arlo Guthrie's Hobo's Lullaby. Looks like Thor Annual #3:
  6. That kid was me in 1967. Come to think of it, that's me in 2017. #fiftyyearscollectingcomics
  7. I'm continuing to offer up a large OO collection from the 60's - 70's. This is a lot of 60 Gold Key cartoon characters. https://www.ebay.com/itm/152775666550?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Thanks for looking! I've bought and sold a few dozen things here on the Board but not enough (and too lazy, I guess) to start a kudos page. Mark
  8. I bought my 3.0 AF15 at a garage sale in Wichita, Kansas, in 1971 for 25 cents. Now that's in the wild! It has increased somewhat in value. At the time, a callow youth of 15, I actually didn't know of the significance of the book -- it just looked like a cool cover of a weird new super-hero. It wasn't till a year or two later that I figured it all out, and have assembled my collection around that comic for the last 45 years.
  9. I love this cover: Army soldiers -- check! Flying saucer -- check! Cowboy -- check! What, no dinosaurs?
  10. Jon has interesting sales threads thanks to frequent, heavy discounts that are like throwing chum into shark-infested waters. Met him personally for a local pick-up and enjoyed geeking out on comics for a few minutes. And a few freebies thrown in! Great friendly seller and collector. Many thanks!
  11. Not a stretch to say this is Steve Ditko's first Spider-Man cover. Jack Kirby pencilled AF 15 and ASM 1 with Ditko inking. CGC used to credit "Kirby/Ditko" on the old ASM 1 labels, but now it's just "Ditko cover."
  12. Glad you snagged another one, especially because it bumped this interesting thread, which I'm reading for the first time. Ever find a list of exactly which Marvel square-bounds had Canadian editions?
  13. I smell something funny coming out of "Brown County, USA": http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMAZING-FANTASY-15-CGC-3-0-BLUE-LABEL-COMIC-BOOK-/191832213658?hash=item2caa17489a%3Ag%3APncAAOSw2ENW8D7S&nma=true&si=YqmoXTMaBfEXFZzzGnz2AMNO3V8%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  14. Pence copy. Even so, pretty cheap. . .
  15. Robert's among the best at posting large, clear pics of the books and meticulously noting all flaws and details. And just as meticulous about his bullet-proof packing. Good sales threads, good prices, cheap shipping, great service. Can't ask for more!
  16. What that guy said. . . And the guy before that. And the guy before that! Etc. Great person to buy from -- friendly, efficient, and sent me an extra sumpin' too!
  17. Maybe the August sales were in Chinese dollars.
  18. Previous Heritage sale for a 3.5 -- eight months ago: $9560.
