  1. Robert's among the best at posting large, clear pics of the books and meticulously noting all flaws and details. And just as meticulous about his bullet-proof packing. Good sales threads, good prices, cheap shipping, great service. Can't ask for more!
  2. What that guy said. . . And the guy before that. And the guy before that! Etc. Great person to buy from -- friendly, efficient, and sent me an extra sumpin' too!
  3. Maybe the August sales were in Chinese dollars.
  4. Previous Heritage sale for a 3.5 -- eight months ago: $9560.
  5. Great prices, courteous service, accurate grading (comics look better in person than scans), exceptional packing. And don't hesitate about the "French connection" -- his postage fees are cheaper than in-country and delivery is less than 2 weeks. I'll be looking out for Mike's sales threads!
  6. Bumping this thread for a 2 1/2 year old post! ( see page 4) Ran across this SF pulp, cover dated July 1940 And 21 years later: Same composition? Check. Bug eyes? Check. Spiky head? Check. Smoking tugboat? Check. Same hexagonal scales, fer cryin' out loud? Check!
  7. Friendly service, accurate grading, good prices, thorough careful packing. Yeah, that's how it's done. I'll be looking for his sales here on the boards and on ebay.
  8. Ditto what stippy52 posted a couple months ago: tightly graded comics, fair prices, rapid delivery, unbelievable secure packaging. And get this: microchamber paper in my $5 - $10 comics! Whaa? Only "complaint" is Ed's setting the bar too high for the rest of the sellers. . .
  9. Nothing worse than peeling off the scotch tape that you've used to fold down the flap on your comic bag -- and peeling it off either damages the bag or -- if you're sloppy -- damages the comic! I hate tape! And I've caused my fair share of tape pulls by accident. So I found a nice alternative: it's Post-It labels. Easy to peel on and off, inexpensive, and best of all, won't damage the comic if you get sloppy. Now all my bags are taped with this. It's 3M Catalog No. 2900-WY, "Label Pads". You can buy a pack of 200 for about $5 at any office supply. Try it out! You're welcome.
  10. Courteous and frequent PMs kept me updated throughout, immediate shipment, well-packaged, and of course the comics were well-described and at a great price. I'll keep an eye out for more from Rube11.
  11. You didn't catch the wink, Jay Dog. I just wanted to throw a little silver age goodness into the mix, since the MJ topic shifted over to the Stars-and-Stripes star stamps. No worries!
  12. My oldest "starred" comic, bought at the Vogelweh, Germany, Stars and Stripes bookstore. Does this mean we should shift this thread back to the Silver Age forum?
  13. What portion of the general public has so much as the slightest clue as to the significance of Amazing Fantasy 15? How many tens of millions of Americans would see it as just another "funny-book"? Now, imagine that there are realistically ten or twenty or thirty THOUSAND copies out there in these people's flea markets and attics and estate sales. Happy hunting!
  14. Good thing your copy didn't grade as an 8.5 -- according to cpg.com, most of the mid-grade RAW copies of #52 are worth MORE than the slabbed ones. Huh? Can that be right? Check out their prices for #48 as well -- raw value is greater than graded?
