  1. Selling some low to mid-grade ASMs on eBay, plus a very nice #315. https://www.ebay.com/sch/ivrimark17v6/m.html?item=153931265481&ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 Thanks for checking it out!
  2. Amazing Spider-Man #238 -- just a little stuff in the upper right corner FC. What looks like a vertical crease/fold in the upper left corner of BC is actually an artifact from the Tattooz insert underneath it -- not a crease. Thanks, boys and girls!
  3. A couple bronze-age books that I'd appreciate a review of; this one and Amazing Spider-Man 238 in another post. . . Marvel Premiere 15 -- MVS present, pages are OW-W, chips at top edge FC and bottom right corner FC are bug kung fu, also a little bug snacking along right FC edge and bottom BC. Thanks very much, boys and girls!
  4. George Roussos worked in comics for an astonishing 50 years, beginning in 1939. In the Golden Age he created “Airwave”, a character in Batman’s Detective Comics. And in the Marvel Silver Age, under the pseudonym "George Bell", he’s known for inking Kirby’s iconic Avengers #4 cover and early Fantastic Four issues. In between, paying the bills in the early years, he drew a series of promotional comics called “Adventures in Science” for General Electric. Up for sale are issues of “Adventures in Electricity” published over a seven-issue run from 1946-1950 (and one of "Jet Power"). Each issue is 16 pages of newsprint stock, comic-book size (7.25” x 10.25”), with a glued (not stapled) binding, featuring George Roussos art throughout (look for his tiny signature on each cover). Each copy is in Fine to Very Fine condition, with supple off-white pages, no tanning or brittleness. No creases, a small tear here or there, and no marks or writing anywhere. On most of the covers there is a neat stamp from the Fairleigh Dickinson [University, in New Jersey] Rocket Society. 1. Price: EACH ISSUE IS $5.00, ALL FIVE ISSUES FOR $20.00 2. Payment: I accept Paypal, money order, or personal check. 3. Shipping: Comics will be shipped to U.S. addresses by USPS Media Mail for $3.00 regardless of number of comics. 4. Return Policy: I'll accept returns up to 14 days from the sale for full refund of sales price and the $3 postage. Adventures in Electricity #1 (Copy A) -- Exploitation of students! Adventures in Electricity #4 -- X-Rays! Adventures in Electricity #7 -- Television! Adventures in Electricity #1 (Copy B) -- More teen abuse! Adventures in Jet Power (nn) -- Jet planes!

Just $2.95 shipping for any number of 'em, if you're a Boardie! https://www.ebay.com/sch/ivrimark17v6/m.html?item=153615559258&ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  10. Apologies to Flo Steinberg and Benjamin Grimm! Pretty interesting but rare book! Sounds like my list of 11,000 is far from comprehensive. In fact, I've gotten two hits from eight requests, which sound about right, percentage-wise. Meh.
  11. They phased out in May 1968 when things expanded. About half the titles with May cover dates still had lists, including Cap 101, Hulk 103, even Captain Marvel 1 and Subby 1. But not Nick Fury or Dr, Strange, who debuted in June.
  12. This Board post from 2015 started things off for me: And this very interesting blog has a lot of info too: http://www.teako170.com/mmms.html Total membership is a good question, since there are plenty of verified members (including Mssrs. Meyler and McAninch mentioned above) who don't appear in the comics. (And there are dozens who have multiple appearances.) I read somewhere that money was pouring in, one buck at a time, and the bookkeeping was sloppy. But if Ben Grimm was indeed in charge of things, he had a lot more important things to do at the time.
  13. I might work on posting it somewhere. . . Meanwhile, I'll PM you a copy. Very early on I stopped transcribing the addresses, because it was too time-consuming and superfluous. The name and comic issue are all you really need. Didn't see too many familiar names on there, though. I guess the most interesting to me was "Dave Cockrum" in, of all titles, X-Men #23.
  14. First, y'all are nuts. Second, here's a double-error-yellow-D-inlay-AND-no-exclamation-point on ebay right now for 99 cents!!!
  15. So I’m that obsessive-compulsive fan who has indeed compiled a list of all the published Merry Marvel Marching Society (MMMS) members – 11,060 names in 493 comics! It wasn’t feasible until the issues I lack, mostly western and war titles, have been recently archived online – Bullpen Bulletin page and all. I do realize any owners of those names are now more than 60 years old -- if they’re still around, God bless ‘em -- and a vast majority of them couldn’t care less about which comic may have featured their name in tiny, tiny type. The scope of the task is dwarfed by the apathy. Whatever. It’s done. Caveat: many members’ names didn’t get published when Marvel stopped listing them in 1968. Getting your $1.00 refunded at this point is unlikely. So now is where I’ll find out about the apathy. If you’re interested, PM me your name and hometown (to be precise, the name and hometown you entered on your MMMS form in the 60’s) and we’ll see if I get a hit. I don’t expect a deluge. (Thanks, Ameri, for starting this topic back in 2015!)
  16. The 1966 reprint of Fantastic Four #1 is up for grabs! This copy has been perused on the PGM forum and the Wise Ones say 6.0 to 7.0. Price is $210, including shipping to U.S. by USPS. Payment by personal check or Paypal, within 5 days, please. Returns accepted, with buyer paying return shipping costs. And no HOSers or probies, please. No kudos here, but a ten-year ebay history with 100% positive feedback.
  17. Nothing like resurrecting a 3 ½ year old thread! So I’m that obsessive-compulsive Marvel fan who has indeed compiled a list of all the published MMMS members – 11,060 names in 430 comics! It wasn’t feasible until the issues I lack, mostly western and war titles, have recently been scanned and are available online – Bullpen Bulletin page and all. If you’re interested in finding your or a friend’s name, shoot me a PM. I don’t expect a deluge.
  18. My pair of half-century old reprints, of Avengers #4 and Fantastic Four #1, await your perusals. Thanks very much!
  19. My far-fetched notion of compiling a list of all the "Merry Marvel Marching Society" members is not as far-fetched now, because complete scans (including house ads, unlike reprints) of the Marvel westerns have recently been posted. But I don't know if Marvel published those "Let's meet 25 more MMMS members!" lists in any issues of their romance titles: Millie the Model (#130-158), Modeling With Millie (#39-54) and Patsy and Hedy (#100-109). I suspect these comics didn't carry them. Can any of you please check any of those issues out for a MMMS list, and shoot me a PM? Thanks very much! Mark
  20. Is Avengers #60 a golden age comic or silver age? Radar O'Reilly has a copy in 1952 or so. . .
  21. Another two thumbs up for Dan. Comics as advertised and mailed promptly enough for me, within a week. But not as immediately as he felt they should have been, so he threw in some extras! Raising the bar. . .
