  1. I'll chime in with Funnies 57 / Captain Midnight 1. There was a time where these early radio tie-ins were a much bigger deal. I believe Funnies 57 used to make Overstreet's top 20 GA book list.
  2. Wow, forgot to pump my GA Funny Book thread here! I'm open to offers. Here's a link so you don't have to dig it up off of page 14: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2296733&page=0&fpart=1 Also, after a number of failed attempts at starting my own website, I've decided to list my entire Golden Age inventory on eBay. I've put about 150 pre-code Crime books in my store this week and there are more to come. Feel free to make me an offer or ask for questions or better scans there or here. http://stores.ebay.com/The-Art-of-Comics Thanks for looking.
  3. I sold a nice book on eBay today! (Big thanks to the buyer if he is a board member)
  4. My opinion: I have had books damaged by these holders and will not use them. The flap and the piece that tucks have left impressions on the books behind them when they are tightly packed. I had a number of books that were not CGC worthy only because they were stored in this manner. So, if you are going to use these, put a board between each book in the box, or make sure they are not tightly packed. Again, my opinion.
  5. You know, this idea really boils down to having a clear mylar bag that is stiff enough that it does not require a board. "Build it into the bag" idea. The closest thing I've seen to this is a thing called a "toploader", which has hard sides, but it does not hold the book snugly enough. Oops, forgot about the CGC case. It fits the bill....
  6. Never expected to win this, but somehow I did: http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170148262004 Been trying to get a decent copy for awhile now. Do you think the RH stamp was a big turn-off?
  7. Listed 115 Golden Age war books on eBay, no reserve most under $10. End Sunday.
  8. Mr. Zoom?? Meet Mr. E.Gerber. Mr. Gerber, this is Mr. Zoom. www.egerber.com
  9. Trying to move some of my GA Romance books, up on eBay, listing in the Marketplace. LINK
  10. I have work to do! Lots of new stuff! I'll get to updating the library as soon as I can.
  11. Took the words right out of my mouth!!! Actually, I think I was more onto a "Sweet Jesus!" kinda thing. Close enough

  15. Thanks! I try to make sure buying experiences are not aleatoric. (I don't know what it means either.)
  16. Thanks! I try to make sure buying experiences are not aleatoric. (I don't know what it means either.) I'm embarrassed to admit that I had to look that up in my nearby Oxford... very appropriate. Highlight the area below my original post...

  18. Greetings everyone. I've been posting in the marketplace about putting my Golden Age inventory on-line here: http://webpages.charter.net/ckb/BooksForSale.html I've got tabs in the bottom left for War, Humor, Charlton, ACG, Harvey and PMI/True. A large number of these books are pre-code. I'm still adding to the "humor" list, but you will find a lot of highly esoteric stuff there. Let me know if I can help anyone out.
  19. Thanks for the help, Phoenix. If you are just uploading a scan that a member has already linked in this thread, it's OK to use the library thread for that purpose. Just to avoid the empty posts here - they don't matter much in the library thread. I'm going to get off my butt soon and get some of the book I have in the list as well.
