  1. Last time I heard someone get called 'obtuse' they got 30 days in the hole...
  2. Timely/Atlas pre-code horror, Suspense 9 VG - $50 postage paid
  3. Me too! It still needs work but it's www.TheArtOfComics.net. eBay store is still open as well but the listings will be down to 100 or so by the end of September.
  4. Excellent, Jayman. That's a new one for the Library. What did it cost you?
  5. They sure did! Hey, that's missing from my list in the Library thread!
  6. You do not need tape. Mylite-1s, just crease and tuck the flaps. Same on Mylite-2s, but you need to clip the sides of the flap so it fits in the bag properly when tucked. You can do the same on the 1's but the effect of not doing so is less pronounced.
  7. I'll catch up with the cover library at the end of the week. Great to see all the contributions of missing books.
  8. Even Ruth and Williams struck out sometimes.... It's not that bad, just 'stylized'.
  9. Shocking Mystery Cases 58 ... Looks like a car wreck theme...
  10. Thrilling Crime Cases 48...This one's beat, but it's still cool. One of those "Auto accident" crime covers.
  11. Looks like Cole to me. Has a "Taffy 1" flavor to it in the characters.
  12. Yeah the most glaring missing title is Terrific # 3 and # 6. Also, there's Toytown Comics # 1 but the GCD has no scan so I can't confirm if it's indeed a Cole cover. Same for Teen-Age Talk # 9 which is an IW reprint so it might be a recycled cover. Inside Crime # 3 (#1) is listed as Cole in the Library thread but it's unsigned. From Fox as well, unlisted, is March of Crime # 7 (#1) and it does have the same look as the Inside Crime book. If we count the 2 Terrific and the March of Crime as Cole cover, we have documented an exact 380 covers. I'll get on it! It's a work in progress! :-)
  13. Every time I see this stuff I am forced to say it: "Not your average Charlton". Thanks for posting that run.
  14. I get you on the font, but what's the story on the "revenge"? I mean it's the only word on the page with that font. I think it's the only word that isn't hand lettered. Doesn't it seem strange? It's like it was an homage or something.
  15. Agreed. I love the way they broke out the "Mr Mystery" font for "revenge". And who can not love love pituitary stimulation covers?
  16. Accepted Reprint #7 actually! But that's OK! Another two series to look for covers for the library thread. I had no idea he did work for Gilberton.
  17. Can't wait. Be good to fill some holes in the library. Thanks for posting your list of LB Cole work, it helped me fill in some things I was unaware of. There were a few places where I think you got Jack and LB mixed up, but that's easy to do just looking at the information in the guide. Also, I'm pretty sure you've bought a few of your books from me at the Boston show. Be great to see them again. I miss them! :-)
  18. Yeah, you know, I had them in there, and I got screwed up by losing my ability to edit my message. I made the mistake of editing on the board directly, instead of my text copy. I will get them fixed tomorrow, thanks for pointing it out. Oh, and I can't post without filling in a hole, can I? :-) All-Famous Police Cases 16
  19. Not to be a wet blanket or anything, but LB Cole drew over 1500 covers. Well then we've got some work to do, don't we......I hope the CGC servers have the space! I'll compile a list of what is here. Great! I know I tried to attach most of the images so they would remain integral to this thread, but if you come across any dead picture links of mine, I can re-post those as attached images as well. Yes, I will. I am only going to link to those that are on the CGC servers, and will be noting those that were posted but are being hosted elsewhere... I hope to have a list this week or next. By the way, I think the previous poster is right about the number of LB Cole covers, but that 1500 must include all the non-comic work he did. I think we're looking more at like 2-300 for comic books. (Not that I wouldn't want to see all 1500 :-) Does that sound right to everyone?
  20. Not to be a wet blanket or anything, but LB Cole drew over 1500 covers. Well then we've got some work to do, don't we......I hope the CGC servers have the space! I'll compile a list of what is here.
  21. You know, this thread has so many of his covers posted, it would be cool to make a list of what is here and what is missing so we could fill it out with at least one example of each of his covers. Did I volunteer?
