Also, the 1st and 2nd printings were published before GHA was published as a web comic on the internet. I believe the series was already published online before it was printed in the 3rd and 4th print copies.

I agree - it's just an asking price and an aggressive one at that. I found the no reserve auction result on the 4th printing to be more telling. Here are the printings to GHA #1 that I am aware of. The left is the true 1st print and the right is the 2nd print. These 2 books are extremely rare with extremely low print runs. Then we have the cover that sold in the auction you linked. That cover was used for the 3rd and 4th printings. The 3rd printing does not have the Tim Seeley Pin-up on the back of the book. The 4th printing does. Both of these versions are also rare, but they were the first printings to reach a major audience. So the one that sold for $105 with the 2 and 3 was the 4th printing. The one that is priced at $600 something is the 3rd printing, and more rare version. Then we have Vol. 2 which is starting now at Image. The first print and a soon to be 2nd printing, just announced from selling out.

This was a recent actual sale that I got blown out on. I was pretty impressed by this sale considering it's what's being referred to as a second printing of the #1. In all actuality it's a 4th printing. Ryan did a true first printing and second printing that were self published in very low print runs, according to his kickstarter hard cover. These were mainly given out to publishers when he was trying to get picked up early on. I've only seen one copy of the true first printed (apparently only a nominal amount were printing, I think he said 50 or so). So the ones on ebay are the first widely released printings, but not the 1st or even 2nd printings. Speaking of Suzie... These books have been a labor of love for me for the past 6 years or so. I'm glad to see others appreciate her.

Oh I see. I didn't realize that - I better pre-order then! I am a huge fan of the series. I was introduced to it a few years ago by Nick Pitarra at a Chicago C2E2 comic con. I was buying a piece of original art from Manhattan Projects and in passing he mentioned, if you like my stuff you should go check out Ryan Browne's table. The thing that struck me about the series, at the time, was that so many of his pears were fans. Pitarra, Seeley, Burnham, Paolo Rivera, Jim Rugg, among others. He was relatively unknown to the Public as his issues of MP hadn't been released yet but his fellow creators were very outspoken about his work. I found that to be very telling and unusual. Image picked up the trade as a test and apparently it performed well. That was after already being released for free as a web comic (still is), then printed in indy issues by Ryan. Then printed in a Hard Cover from Kickstarter that reached the already existing fan base. Most of the sales on the Image TPB were new readers. So I expect the ongoing series to do really well. I'm really looking forward to it.

The new book isn't out yet. That's the original issue (pre-image) they probably have for sale (unless it is a pre-order). The new series comes out in Sept.

Honestly, I didn't like that teaser either and I was worried that it would turn people off. If I wasn't such a fan of the original 3 part series it may have had the same effect on me. The 1st 3 issues are free, originally released as a webcomic on the link provided. Those 3 issues are the tpb that is out right now. Except for origin stories in the back provided by a slew of artists.
