  1. Hopefully they are just hiding on the property and not dead.
  2. If screening 'tested well' QED It will be interesting to see what they do with the film. If he is incarcerated, then WBD has a decision to make - write it off vs spending more $$$ on reshoots and marketing for a film that may fail at the box office due to the lead.
  3. Greggy has them tied up for the next year already.
  4. This is the point I was getting at - What's a realistic box office for this film? It can't be $800 million+ But is $650 million worldwide a "failure?" Not saying it won't make money. But I have severe doubts it will make "tentpole expectations" money. I am expecting it to be more in line with Shang-Chi/Eternals to be honest, based on how The Batman performed. Hopefully it does better than that, but it is a DC film with a troubled star which is not a good starting point. Maybe Black Adam will be a $1B+ film and revive the DCEU, but the top DC property just failed to hit $800M despite the positive reviews and reaction from most of the Batman fan-base. On the flip side, Doctor Strange 2, which is viewed as a weak MCU film and with second stringers hit $954M. Right now, I think we need to lower our expectations at the box office for the DCEU, unfortunately. With the current WBD project approval process, I would consider it a success if this movie is released.
  5. I am one Batman fan that does not. Bring back Bale and I will see the film.
  6. Now the question becomes who is going to snap them up at a low price? I think it would make sense for AAPL or AMZN due to the need for content for their streaming services, the quality of the programming they have put out so far, and the fact that both companies can cover the debt without blinking.
  7. He is too busy selling all of the copies of this book that he picked up.
  8. I agree in the sense that, if one wasn't familiar with the source material, one might have a very, very different experience of the show. It's super hard for me to judge. As someone who knows it (or, at least, this part of it, I haven't read it all) it seems a tremendous adaptation. I can imagine someone who didn't know it being bored/confused at times. In the battle between "service the fans" and "service the general audience," this show might be tilted towards the fans. As a fan, I say screw the general audience. They can go out and buy the trades to fill in the blanks. And give me 5-7 more seasons of this.
  9. Now that was top entertainment. Such good TV. Just finished episode 6. Amazing. It looks like some of the MSM critics are not enjoying it as much as we are. They need to read the comics I guess.
  10. Just finished binging the first 5 episodes after a family dinner. They did a fantastic job with the show.
  11. Based on recent moves by the new leadership, does this mean more focus on movies and less on DCEU streaming for HBO Max? Or, a shift back to 60s Batman style action scenes and special effects due to low budgets?
  12. Agreed, but if they have neutered him already then they have his replacement already lined up. They would be better served showing that they have a leader for the 10 year plan in place now after the Q2 report. I can't help but wonder now if the long term outcome will be for Zaslav to repackage HBO/WB for someone else to buy and clear any DISC debt off the books along with WB/HBO properties and debt. The new entity does not appear to have the financial means to cover content generation going forward, and the debt load is a long term issue.
  13. It will be interesting to see what happens with WBDisc going forward. Their debt load is going to cripple them, and if Zaslav cuts too much from the HBOMax production budget he will not have enough new content to keep subscribers. Financially, the newco is going to struggle for a while as they do not have the power of the largest online retail business/iPhone and app store/SW and theme parks to cover losses like their main competitors do.
  14. Why is Hamada still there if he is basically powerless? If he is no longer part of the leadership team, can him and bring in someone to helm the 10 year vision asap.
  15. Why is Hamada still there until October? WTF. If he is gonzo, then do it now instead of dragging it out.
  16. It is going to happen anyway, just like with every other variant/error/different date/etc. thread. It used to bug me as well, but now I do not really care. As other collector friends convinced me, let others hype up the market and just sell into it for
  17. Definitely, and there is a way to build a nice income stream by just selling slabs alone. There are boardies that are making nice $$$ every month by just buying the right books, pressing, slabbing and selling them via auction houses now that CGC is back on track with more reasonable grading turnaround times. Once you build up enough submissions, it is a much easier way to go as after you buy the books you just spend time packing/shipping them once to the pressing service or CGC. CGC ships them straight to the auction house and they just collect the monthly payouts.
  18. Just asking this for a friend - will it be cancelled in August 2023 for tax write-down?
  19. Why not? There are so many other threads for variant this or that, newsstand editions, DCU, etc that one more is not an issue.
  20. Awesome. Make sure you mention how much rarer they likely are relative to regular CPVs and any other foreign variants as well.
  21. Cool. You should start a thread for the and build the market. These would be even rarer versions of CPVs if they were only sold in Quebec.
  22. Looking at the cover price, was this released later than the English Canadian newsstand edition?
