You hit the nail with the hammer! It looks like it should be a fun flick regardless. Now I have to convince my kids, who think Thor sucks based on the last two movies, to want to watch this.

Agree 100% as a SW fan. TFA was just a rehash of the plot from A New Hope with modern special effects and a more diverse cast sprinkled in. I am glad I waited to watch it for free on the small screen. Rogue One was a better story and movie.

True enough. The one thing that strikes me with this show is.......how much cooler the Discovery looks relative to the Enterprise in supposed later timelines. STNG reruns are so dated with the special effects in comparison now.

I was thinking the same thing. Lasting that long because the Klingon captain was attracted to her prisoner doesn't seem like the short trend we are seeing on this show so far. That is my thought as well. It is the obvious plot twist, but the dude did not look that banged up in the prison cell.

Just binge watched the first 5 episodes last night with my son (he has a couple to watch today as bed time was too early to finish episode 3). I liked it a lot, except for 2 things: 1) appearance of the Klingons - they look more like Uruk-Hai from LOTR, and 2) Jason Isaacs' overacting as Lorca. Other than that, a solid start to the latest installment of Trek IMHO.

How is season 2 going so far? I was planning on binge watching it over the Christmas break.

I put low to mid grade Canadian editions in $1 boxes. They are quite common up here after all. There are more collectors looking for them now, but the focus is on HG copies. Most of the books are too plentiful in mid to low grade to be worth more than the respective guide price.

I am not setting my box office expectations high for it - Star Wars will definitely hit its box office. That being said, I am looking forward to it as a comic fanboy. FWIW, I was not a huge fan of SW TFA. Gangly Ren was a weak villain - every time he came on the screen I thought of Lord Dark Helmet from Spaceballs, not Vader. So much for instilling fear in the Rebels. The story line was basically just an updated rehash of A New Hope. You can already see it trending that way for the Empire Strikes Back.....err The Last Jedi this December (easy pickings - new water planet = swampy Dagobah; Luke = Yoda).

She has the look to pull off the part. Can she act? I have not seen Baby Driver yet (or any of her other work).

It is interesting to have him (Cyborg) in the JL, but since he appears to have been healed by a Mother Box it fits with the storyline. I can't wait for them to show Darkseid. If I were WB, I would actually have some footage of him in action and destroying some poor planet as a warning of "Darkseid is coming" instead of a cameo in the end sequence like Marvel has already done in the Avengers films with Thanos.

He was just in Toronto at the Fan Expo Canada and he was really gracious. The fans love him and he gave back with free signatures and $10 head sketches on the spot. Finger's crossed that Kevin and his team can make this happen. With no guests announced so far it is Go Time! Fans out here would prefer full bust sketches......
