  1. Flash was definitely a more popular charcter than GL back in the SA, but not any longer.
  2. Look at the number of HG early Flash issues out there compared to the early GL issues as well. I guess GL was not a popular title and therefore there are not a lot of nice books around? Try to find a nice HG copy of GL #7, for example. For some reason this book is even missing from OO collections I have asked about recently.
  3. You should never listen to the Marvel zombies - TTA is a lame key for a third tier character.
  4. These books are rare, but not as rare as Doug's list makes them out to be. I made a killing off of buying and flipping them a few years back from the LCSs in town. From what I have heard talking to other collector-dealers at shows over the past few years here in Alberta is that it sounds like they had low distribution in the USA outside of a few areas but are plentiful here. You can usually find them in decent shape for $0.50 - $1.00 and flip them for a significant gain. The best I did was a $1.00 VG/FN Scrooge #179 that I landed $150 for when these books were the rage a couple of years back. Since then, I believe that a few large stashes have come onto the market and that has lowered the prices considerably. They are tough to find in 8.0 or better, though.
  5. From what I have heard, he got enough to buy a Ferrari and the penthouse of a new beachfront condo development in Miami with the proceeds.
  6. Or, I can just post your thoughts from the PMs here for free..... You 2 are manipulating the SC#22 market Keep the price rising Showcase #22 is old news now. I am moving onto greener pastures now for the manipulation game.

  8. Here is a nice piece that arrived today. The pencils look much better in person than in the scan.
  9. My guess is that 5.0s top out around the $3500 mark when the hype hits so there is a bit, but not a lot, of room left. I would not be surprised to see the next 5.0 sell for closer to $2500, to be honest, as we need a short term correction in prices. My guess is that a lot of the rise in prices was due to us boardies speculating or rushing out to land copies for our collections.
  10. The end is near. Nah, just a breather. This early run up was fueled by long time collectors who grabbed their copies and speculators who stocked up. The big spike in fanboy interest will not hit until late next year when we are closer to the movie.
  11. That is my old copy. I hope it hits a nice price for Brent.
  12. I only own one copy. I thought you only buy White paged SA DCs? Very sweet copy!
  13. No hidden defects were noted on the original old label grader's notes. I just think that CGC is tightening things up a bit again grading wise (I have received similar comments from other board members via PM as well). It looks nice enough for me to hold onto for a while in any case (thumbs u
  14. Here is the result of the quick press and resub of the old label 4.0 I picked up from Rick a few weeks back. It looks just as nice as my old 5.0 so I might resub it again if I decide to sell it at a later date.
  15. Congrats! You should do very well with those books. (thumbs u
  16. It will be interesting to see what happens with the next few copies that come up for sale. Are we going to see the start of a lull before a slower and steadier climb to a new plateau, OR are we seeing the same thing that happened with Avengers #1 earlier this year and now only 6.0 or better copies are holding their ground?
  17. Well, that was a good price for the 5.0 copy, but the LT/OW pages hurt the 4.5 from the looks of things.
  18. I am hoping that the 4.5 does not go any higher, actually, so I can buy it and sell it locally. I know two people looking for a copy that will pay whatever it takes to get one.
  19. So far the auction results are a bit underwhelming. I wonder how much the LT/OW is hurting the price on the 4.5?
  20. Nice snag! Does this complete your Showcase #22-24 run?
  21. Just like Timelys. Sure if you like guns being fired at Nazis and Commie Japs. Well, compared to the violence in some of the kids shows nowadays then Timelys would definitely be fine.
  22. Beautiful book, Roy! It has a much better cover than those cheesy Schomburg Marvel Comics issues.
