Some healthy prices tonight for the 9.6 Fantuccio copies X-Men #75 ($1,189) and the #76 ($3,452).
That's a hefty price to pay for a Bronze age non-key with five other copies known in the same grade. I wonder what a 9.8 #76 would fetch?

I won't show it 'cause I didn't get it, but I placed what I thought to be a decent bid on the Thor #168 (9.6 w/ white pages) of $1200 - 50% more than the last GPA sale of $757 - and the final bid was triple mine.

Great pickups, love those Kubert covers!

My EC collection is still in its early stages (almost all Ingels HOF covers until now), but I've just added several more courtesy of edowens71

Avengers #4 is bigger as far as Keys go, but X-men #4 is number one in my heart.

Hard not to buy those '75 GS issues ?
Very happy with the two I grabbed!
Besides having a slew of top-graded books and a plethora of pedigrees, Ghost Town also has an eye for some of the most well-centered copies you're likely to find. If a comic you need is in this thread, grab it now!

Giant-Size Man-Thing #5 CGC 9.6 Winnipeg1 hour ago, lizards2 said:I can see why they would want to keep Giant-Size Man-Thing purchases on the down low, and delivered in a plain, brown wrapper.
Are you kidding? I love Giant-Size Man-Things. I took 'em both!
Thanks, Barton!

X-Men 137 for me (x2 copies). Even as a 12-year-old I knew the death of Jean Grey was going to be special, it said so right on the cover!

I just got back from 4 days in NYC. First time there. Wasn't looking for comics but did stumble across Forbidden Planet and found a few bargain TPBs in their sale section. Tried all the food, had some great bagels at Ess-a-bagel and some terrible hot dogs at a joint whose name eludes me, but the best eating experience we had was at Juliana's Pizza, just on the other side of the Brooklyn Bridge. We walked across the bridge to get there and then took the NYC ferry back to midtown.

Note: Subby #43 to #56 and Annual #2 are all Picture Frames. And like the ancient Egyptians, I plan on taking them with me.
#57 and up are on the way. Probably some other titles too.
Dang, I was watching for that #43. And great books, btw, I don't even collect Sub-Mariner but I'm lovin' these!

While on vacation in NYC for the first time this past week I stumbled across Forbidden Planet while on my way to the Strand. Went to their sale section and managed to grab these three brand new TPB for less than $60! Check them out if you are in New York, they have got a LOT of stuff!

Earliest comic I remember reading (I'm sure I more than likely just glanced at the pictures - I was only five). I still own it, coverless of course, and have it safely stored in a mylite2 side by side with my most valuable comics. Every time I pull it out I stare at it as proudly as Uncle Scrooge with his Number One Dime!
