  1. Not sure if this is news but Midtown's brick and mortar stores are limiting issue 2 to 1 copy per customer. Any remaining stock of issue 1 appears to have sold out--and there were about 100 copies at the Times Sq location just last week.

The store between 7th and 8th ave didn't put the limit sign up until about 8:30AM.

They let me keep the two I had in my stack of books because I got in under the wire. It probabaly didn't hurt that I spent about $100 either.

  2. Out of 6 invoices submitted in late August, the books for 4 of them have arrived at Comic Connect (Metro) this week.

The books that have arrived are all modern books.

In addition to the 3 invoices where I had received an posted many of the grades here, I received the following grades on the fourth invoice:

    ASM 300 9.6

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns 1 9.6

    Comico Primer 1 9.2

    Detective Comics 575 9.6

I think the 2 remaining invoices are value tier, I remember I submitted some Dotty Dripples that I haven't gotten back yet.

  3. Random question. but I never hopped on the Bedlam train like most people did. Whats the book about, good read? I might try to start a 2nd printing collection if thats even possible. Heard the book is heating up

    1. Psychotic socio-path

    2. Mysterious 'superhero' figure

    3. Mass chaos (think Joker)

    4. Mass murder (think Hannibal Lecture minus cannibalism)

    5. High end suspense thriller (think SE7EN)

    You forgot:

    6. Not for cat lovers

  4. None of them are shipped yet.

On a hunch, I called Metro and asked them to look up the invoice numbers.

I was curious because the rest of us unwashed masses can't get the grades until the invoices are marked as "Shipped".

Aaaaaand, there's the payoff folks. So some submitters can get grades before a book ships? Am I reading the last few posts incorrectly? Don't want to look like a conspiracy nut to all the apologists.

    I think you're just jealous.

    :baiting:

Anyone can consign their books to Comic Connect (Metro). It's cheaper than using ebay.

  5. None of them are shipped yet.

Before I hooked up with Metro CGC only knew me as Clown Shoes.

  6.

Did Metro give you any grades on book less than 9.8?

Yes, I got grades on all of the books on the first three invoices.

I just listed the 9.8s because I was excited about them.

The two low grades were Cry for Dawn 1 (2nd print) 9.2 and Uncanny X-men 138 8.0.

There were four other 9.8s and everything else came back 9.6 so far.

  7. My 8/31/12 submission included six invoices (78 books in total). So far 3 of the 6 invoices (all moderns so far) have been graded. None of them have been shipped yet but I did get the grades.

    So far the 9.8s include:

    Chew 1

    Walking Dead 10, 12, 25, 27, 28, 29, 33

    Chew 2 (x2)

    New Mutants 98

    Thief of Thieves 1 & 2

    Kick 1 Sketch Cover Variant

    Chew 3

    Uncanny X-Men 133

    Secret Wars 8

Hit Girl 1 Sketch Cover Variant

    Incredible Hulk 340 (x2)

    Fatale 1

Still no 9.9s or 10.0s for me yet.

Could you see the grades on the website? Did they tell you on the phone? Or could you just tell from the website that they passed a pre-screen?

I submitted the books under Metropolis's account. They were able to look up the invoices to see the grades on the ones that were completed.

So the books had been shipped?

None of them are shipped yet.

On a hunch, I called Metro and asked them to look up the invoice numbers.

Who called and got the grades?

I called Metro, I think they looked up the grades online and sent a copy to my e-mail.

  11. At the New York Comicon they had an exclusive cover for the Walking Dead magazine that came with an art card signed by Robert Kirkman.

I had Kirkman sign my copy of the magazine for CGC signature series. I just found out that it will be coming back with a 9.8 grade for yellow label.

The only problem is that I can't find any comparables on ebay or elsewhere so I thought I would ask here.

Any ideas about where I should price the magazine and art card if I sell them as a set?

    Thanks in advance.

  12. Cl

I'm curious why issue 105 art is higher priced than previous issues....

My guess is to compensate for the demand for Negan pages. Given what has happened with Governor pages, I think Mark is trying to be ahead of the curve and get full value for these pages.

Close, the pages are more expensive because he has to pay half of the proceeds to Negan as tribute.

  13. At NYCC in October I made one large submission of modern books, another submission with 15 signature series books, and a third submission of 3 signature series magazines. None of these submissions were fast tracked.

For whatever reason the three magazines are graded. All three came back 9.8.

When I asked about the other submisions I was told that one was on "clown shoes" and the other was on "you gotta be kidding me".

  14. Btw where do you guys get your bags and boards from? Running low again and need to pick more up.

I shopped around and think this is the best deal (for me anyway). I ordered 200 B&B and thought the price was great (priority shipping as well). Check him out...

Prices looked good to me as well.

Ordered 1,000 with free shipping. Got $2.36 ebay bucks to boot.

    Thanks for the heads up.

  15. Those who are angry about books being pressed are only angry because pressing as a potential damage vector is profit oriented.

Those same angry few aren't angry about the damage vector know as book reading, presumably.

Some of us are angry because this thread is being hijacked into a pressing thread. Pressing is not the problem. It's a conflict of interest.

    Is it? I'm conflicted.

I would much rather talk about the 7 month grading back up.

I currently have a submission from June 6th which is not even scheduled for grading yet.

Maybe Matt can do some grading.
