  1. Now that I've found a handful, there are only two packs that have had them: Batman the Knight and Superman Son of Kal-El. Also, the value has tanked but probably still worth checking out if you're already in a Walmart.
  2. Again, if they submitted mass quantities of silver junk would that make a difference? Are you trying to just say that they're not monetarily worth grading? What difference does it make what era the books came from?
  3. I don't understand the hate for Conceptual Funnies. What's the difference between that and any other stupid comic gimmick that's come before it? Conceptually, it's a great idea. Also a decent, if not obvious crack at manufactured scarcity. I wouldn't buy it but it has its place in the long line of wacky things comic publishers do to set themselves apart.
  4. Anyone get some Fullbacks lately that have what looks like rust spots on them? Here's what I mean: And here's what happens if you scratch the stuff off: @HOTFLIPS These came from yall a few months ago. Any ideas? 12 out of the 50 are basically unusable.
  5. Is there a market for these in 9.8? I can't find any recent sales but just found 3 BANGERS at an estate sale. 2 of them are 3/4 black!
  6. Just had a flake buyer who accepted an offer and ghosted me. It's a real drag having to deal with that riff raff on Ebay but it seems even worse when it happens on MCS.
  7. I recently bought a collection that was seemingly super high grade except a solid 1/3 of the books will have one or two water drops on the front or back cover. Here's an example of one that is a solid 9.8 candidate but I have NO idea what that does to the grade. VF? Is there a general rule about very small amounts of moisture damage?
  8. Standard tier submitted 2/14 picked up 3/26.
  9. Think it's a law of averages kind of thing. Go to enough places and eventually, you will.
  10. Oh, you're totally right. Those people are killers. But you can imagine each generation having their, "moderns are trash" people who would never have read them.
  11. Also, just as an aside - Modern comics are leaps and bounds better than old comics from a technical perspective. It's night and day. But those early stories are literally the bedrock from which all others have to measure up. And with the way nostalgia works, there's a large portion of comics readers that will never give moderns a chance or just dismiss them for the sake of being "modern." It's the same with music. If someone ever tells you music isn't as good now as it was in X decade, there's a VERY good chance their opinion on music isn't worth listening to. That being said, my favorite quote about that is, "Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it."
  12. I know it's hard for people with rose colored classes to objectively re-read silver and bronze books, but they are BAD. Not all, obviously. When a panel is 50% exposition, you're not making good comics. Don't get me wrong - I love em, too. But they're not winning any awards.
  13. If that was the indicator of collectability, I'm not sure 99% of comics would qualify.
  14. First I remember buying with my own money was Marvel Comics Presents 118. Long since lost that particular copy but have one at CGC right now.
  15. I definitely don't go everywhere but I go everywhere comics are listed. The problem is, comics are so rarely listed.
  16. I don't know how Littledoom does it but it's impressive. Garage sale and a quick stop into 2nd & Charles.
  17. Something similar happened on r/comicswap with a guy who was mad about a low ball and sent an empty box with a bunch of racial slurs written inside. Never did find out what happened.
  18. From a small collection I got last week. I yelped when I saw the 119. There were a ton of early to mid 2000s newsstands, too but only other notable ones were:
