  1. Found two RWBY 7s today after going to 7 or 8 Walmarts. No rhyme or reason as far as the packs that had them - just had to check the spines. Not sure what the print run is for that but I looked at about 45 DC packs and only found 2. Take that anecdote for whatever it's worth.
  2. Found an I Am Batman pack and it did NOT have RWBY.
  3. That's ridiculous. Any other company and I'd say demand your FT money back but it's CGC and
  4. One of my favorite quotes from an essay on why common sense doesn't exist:
  5. I don't think there's a way to answer those questions or have that discussion without politics being front and center. Mainly because it's almost impossible for people who associate with that flag (minus the Punisher logo) to stand back and look at it objectively from a historical context and not the emotion or personal context they've put on it. "It's just a flag." Sure. But it's also SO much more. Same with the Punisher logo. 1) I think they would. It's not exactly bad press to off the Klan or Klan sympathizers. 2) Not sure I'm understand the question because of "hasn't." If you meant "has", similar to what October was mentioning, it's impossible for Marvel to police every bozo selling bootleg merch on roadsides and flea markets.
  6. This thread has made one thing very clear: NEVER get your books pressed w/ CCS.
  7. I just sent 7 slabs last week and they're being finalized now. However one of the slabs arrived with a meaty crack and is being sent to CGC for reholder. Anyone have experience with how long that takes? Normally, it wouldn't matter but it was the biggest money book of the group. Also! Can you delay shipping when making orders? A few items on my want list popped up but they're so cheap it's hard to justify the shipping cost. Can I pay for those items but delay the shipping until I can make a bigger order? @mycomicshop
  8. That's insane. What were TATs when you submitted?
  9. I've noticed a lot of people mentioning "pandering" in this thread and I'm curious why you think it's pandering if they switch directions and not pandering if they don't. Isn't pandering essentially capitulating to the wants of the consumer? Which last I checked is the way the "free market" is supposed to work. If there's enough of a sales hit or big societal backlash, they'll "pander" to that side and switch it back. The only incentive for a company to do the right thing (whatever that is) is profit.
  10. Marvel would change the logo and a bunch of people who haven't bought a new comic off the stands in 15 years will tell everyone they're never buying a new comic off the stands again.
  11. Star Wars fans arguing with Star Wars fans. Name a more iconic duo
  12. I agree, for the most part. I don't think the symbol was so far gone as to throw it out entirely but I'm not a bean counter at Disney/Marvel. There's been a lot of iconography and imagery that has been rendered unusable over the years due to bad actors coopting them and it sucks. But stuff like Pepe the Frog aren't hills I'm willing to die on and neither is a Punisher skull. This would probably not be as big of a deal if the original wasn't so iconic and the replacement SOOOO bad.
  13. And here is a great example of the people that associate with the old logo and why they're changing it. It's super tight you identify with the character that shot kids for littering in a non Ennis Punisher story. Big alpha coming through, guys. Punisher as a fictional character is rad and writers can do a lot with him. Been reading his titles since I was a kid. Thinking he's anything but a lunatic (even if he's a sympathetic lunatic) is
  14. There's a much deeper philosophical conversation around this but there are plentyyyy of examples of him murdering or attempting to murder people for absolutely mundane crimes or slights. His entire ethos is that he's obsessed with vengeance and has zero ability to contextualize or see grey. That's not a good guy - that's a weird vigilante fantasy for sociopaths. Just because he's fallen on the side of "good" doesn't make him not a murderer. BUT, he had a GREAT logo.
  15. No idea about the in-story justification or whether or not Disney mandated it but it absolutely makes sense if you're wanting to distance yourself from the people/groups that appropriated the logo. But I gotta say - I hate it. I don't know if it's because I'm so used to the original logo or what, but man...it looks like a bad Magic the Gathering expansion symbol.
  16. Depends on the feedback. If it seems petty or ignorant, I'll avoid them. If they address real issues with the transaction, that's fine with me. I've started being more honest in my feedback I've left for sellers so hopefully that doesn't bite me in the .
  17. Grade Holder (I can't do custom labels. They're so bad to me.) Wrap Page color Holder condition Previous Pressing Pedigree The only TRUE deal breaker is a custom label. I won't buy it unless it's a CRAZY deal. I hate 'em so much.
  18. I wasn't stoked about a book that sold at auction in Oct. but those are the breaks, sometimes. Otherwise, I've been very pleased. Just sent 7 slabs last week and fingers are crossed. I can't speak to consigning raw books but I did receive a book last week that was graded NM and is barely VF, which was a new experience with MCS.
  19. There are ABSOLUTELY issues with CGC at pretty much every level but threads like these are just the worst examples. The thousands of customers who AREN'T having issues aren't posting here because it's not exactly riveting to say, "Wow...my experience was great and there were no issues." I just had a modern FT submission come back in 16 days with no scuffing and graded dead on but that doesn't get the juices flowing like commiserating over ups. This isn't directed at you but there's a very vocal group who've never submitted or even purchased a slabbed book (regardless of what company) and they're the loudest critics. It's strange. I get that you're using your voice as a potential customer to hopefully get CGC to change for the better and that's great - freak what you feel. The turn around times are the one thing that's making me submit less, for sure - they're terrible. The potential for a QC problem isn't even close to being a concern (and I've had BIG books show up with shards).
  20. Apologies if this has been discussed but I wonder about Archie newsstands because I don't ever remember seeing them for sale at any comic shops I went to. Were the majority of the copies sold AT newsstands?
  21. I dig it but there's a lot of reasons why CGC is backed up - Supply chain issues, labor shortages, massive submission numbers, constant signings...I'm not in their books or in their logistics meetings so I (and none of you) know what is THE panacea to make things go back to "normal." Also, from any random submitters perspective, what's the difference between someone submitting high grade silver and someone submitting mid grade moderns? the time it takes to grade/slab 25 books is the time it takes to grade 25 books - regardless of what they are. I do wonder where all those 7.0 X-Men 305s are going to end up, though. It's such a massive waste of money.
  22. This thread is the guide book of, "What/how I collect is good and what/how others collect is dumb."
