  1. I find that 9.0+ is pretty much "mint" in the eyes of anyone who isn't a CGC collector. So it's difficult to fault the rest of the world for our excruciating standard. Before the CGC, a 9.0 WOULD have been considered mint.
  2. So they are doing a signing with a few of the Mirage gang (including peter) at Shellback Artworks in ME on FCBD. Can we get something going?
  3. Archon, were these supposed to be shrink-wrapped with the game? I got some copies years ago at the GameStop by my work. They gave them to me for free when I asked about them. The stack they had of them would seem to indicate either that the extras all weren't destroyed or they gave me the copies that were supposed to go with the games they had. No, they were only given to people who pre-ordered the game, so they wouldn't have been shrink wrapped with them. What they probably did was ship bunches out, gave them out with pre-orders, and then sent the rest back to corporate after the pre-orders were filled.
  4. Not many. More importantly, according to a gamestop rep I spoke to about it they destroyed whatever didn't get used for the pre-orders. So there is basically one copy for every copy of the 2007 movie game that was pre-ordered. Which...wasn't many. Of all the printings of #1, this one actually gave me the most fits.
  5. This thread was on page 2? UNACCEPTABLE! New Stuffs! Bissette (Turtle Soup #1) and Veitch.
  6. The numbers for GG1&2 are definitely incorrect. The edition size of 50 each has been confirmed many times by Kevin. I would hazard to say if there were 150 of each of them, we would have encountered more copies by now.
  7. I lost that bid at $1400 originally (with the intent on reselling the copy of #1) so I'd probably pull the trigger at $500 for just that book. But it depends entirely on the kind of collector you are. I value historical items relevant to the brand because I like to collect them. For instance, I paid a few hundred bucks one time for counterfeit gobbledygooks, because of their historical place int he franchise. Not everyone would care to pay anything for counterfeits of photocopied comix :-P
  8. I know just about everything about that book. Heck, I printed the certificate it comes with when I was working for Kevin :-P What do you want to know about it? The last time it sold, it was for $3,883.75 and came with a copy of TMNT #1 First Print. Just sayin'.
  9. 200? What ever happened to 50? I like how they raise our rates all the time on one end, and then refuse free money on the other. Anyway, I'm in for 10 if you get this going.
  10. I may be remembering incorrectly, but I think the only release of the NECA April was that exclusive. There were other colors planned that never saw the light of day.
  11. Just wanted to pop on and mention there is a turtlemania silver on ebay right now (not mine).
  12. Yeah it sucks. Just about every good piece in that HA auction went to dealers. Also I just wanted to say that every conversation I have ever had with Kevin about the GG first prints (which is a considerable amount) he has always stated 50 copies. So until we find those 51st copies, I'm inclined to believe him.
  13. I slabbed mine without opening it, so unless Danny (the previous owner) opened it, I can't confirm. I don't know that I'd consider it an entirely new edition though Rich. I mean...it's still 1 of 10, it just also happens to be an error copy. I have the only known error copy of Gobbledygook #1 (1st edition) and I still consider it part of the regular run. Edit: Danny just texted me. No multiple covers on my gold.
  14. I would agree.Though I don't think I would agree that it won't affect price at all. I know I wouldn't pay what I paid for my 9.4 for like a 7.0 or whatever.
  15. So yes, my earlier statement is correct. There are now 6 of the 10 known to the fanbase. I'm missing an image of one of them, but there are 3 on census, and 3 ungraded: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v247/JNCOPosterboy/Turtlemania%20Golds/ The missing photo is 9/10. So we (as a community) now have: 1/10 2/10 4/10 6/10 8/10 9/10 Leaving 3, 5, 7, and 10 still out there somewhere.
  16. Right? I wonder how this will affect the market of the book in the future. 2 o the 10 books have now sold for under $1000. I think that just leaves 4 copies of the book unaccounted for.
  17. Someone we know just completely borked the average ;-) http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&rt=nc&nma=true&item=150851931041&si=BjKdvHY47m6jnYLkFyjr4wn%252FfnU%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUS%3A1123&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc#ht_500wt_1156 I'll let them say more.
