  1. yes. I was the one who purchased the white Turtlemania. And I thought the Gold didn't sell. Either I missed something or I misunderstood you...or both. Both apparently. The 9/10 gold sold privately along with a high grade silver and white, but was however the same book from the auction.
  2. 9.6, 7.0 (due to a small spine split), 9.4 7.0, 9.4, 9.4 9.2, 9.0, 8.0, 9.4 Not a grade chaser, too many games and politics. I'm a have it or not kinda guy.
  3. The first one is a regular copy (SS'ed by Kevin) The second is the NYCC variant The third is the Double Cover (SS'ed by Kevin)
  4. Appreciate all the positive feedback. Have a few more books I want to add to the configuration, but I'm not sure how yet. We shall see :-)
  5. That wall sees no direct sunlight, and CGC slabs are fairly UV resistant as it is. And frankly, If being able to enjoy my books as art rather than having them squirreled away in dark boxes means the risk of cover fade over their lifetime... then so be it.
  6. New frames came in today! I went through http://www.gweedosshowcase.com/ I can't say anything but great things about his work.
  7. That isn't ENTIRELY true. Turtlemania was produced by the proprietor of a small shop in Florida at the time called Metropolis comics. He put on an intensely small convention that the book was sold at. Kevin and Peter were monetarily compensated for their contribution, so I don't know that I'd really call it a fan project. I'm confused, was it put together by Kevin and Peter or by Mirage Studios? Then isn't it the definition of a fan project since it wasn't , even if it was "authorized"? If you consider licensed products "fan products"...then sure? Usually fan projects aren't put together by established businesses and then sold for profit.

  9. I didn't know these could be slabbed with a grade Yup. There are 3 on census. Gobbledygooks are the ones that they won't grade.
  10. right? It's pretty nutty. This dude splashes onto the scene and starts throwing down major coin to do in a matter of weeks what the other major collectors have taken years to do. Kinda takes the fun out of it if you ask me... but to each their own.
  11. Point of interest: I can confirm that the person who purchased the Turtlemania Gold 9/10 (he also purchased a high grade white and silver at the same time) is the same buyer that purchased the set of Gobbledygooks for 16k not too long ago... I want his checkbook.
  12. Check out his ebay store. A bunch of good Turtle books went up recently.
  13. Am I the only one that is completely jazzed that Kevin is back writing on the title?
  14. Grab some clean pants, and then read this: http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/05/19/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-new-comic-idw/
  15. Sorry about the doubt post. Sideshow announced their Shredder. Discuss!
  16. Hey gang, I thought you might like this. I recently brokered the sale of a copy of Barbaric Fantasy #1 (Peter Lairds first self published work) for Steve Murphy (writer of a vast majority of TMNTA). As a loose form of payment, Steve agreed to sign his entire catalog of TMNTA books for me. So I sent him 85 books! And he got them back to me yesterday! Thought I'd share the photo album :-) http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v247/JNCOPosterboy/The%20Collection/Comics/Steve%20Murphy%20Signed%20TMNTA/ The other signature on many of the books is that of Ken Mitchroney, lead artist of the book for many of the early issues.
  17. You're very welcome! I'm just glad we could make this happen for you, and for Bill!
  18. I was thinking that, but he said that his copies had no documentation? Look at the date on those documents. They were made very recently.
  19. Pretty sure those are Issac's books. He is a documentarian that is currently working on a Turtles documentary. As I recall, Peter gifted him those books during the production (assuming these are those books; but they sure look like them. I'll confirm next time we speak).
  20. IDW Landed the turtles! http://gogreenmachine.org/?p=4122
  21. +1 Had you sold them, it would now be very difficult to acquire copies at the original price point again down the road.
