  1. I don't think the 1st gen labels were sealed in. That didn't come along until the 2nd gen.
  2. Yes, but on 2nd gen slabs the label is sealed into the top of the inner well and you have to tear it a little to get it out.
  3. It wasn't until the 3rd generation slabs that the label was not connected to the inner well. So long as a book is still in a 1st or 2nd generation slab it shouldn't have been possible to swap them out.
  4. On the short list of greatest covers ever published.
  5. OO collection. It was a 7.5 and I cracked it out immediately. Way too nice to not see raw.
  6. Excited to get this one. Among the toughest issues.
  7. Good question. Should be in a conserved label at minimum. Probably a mistake. @CGC Mike
  8. Nice washtone effect in the water.
  9. Finally finished this short run. Primo Bob Powell throughout this series. The 11 has since been disentombed.
  10. The Bethlehem is a 9.0 on HA in 2011, was that upgraded? Do you recall if there was an Overstreet copy? Maybe a Slobodian? I can't think of much else.
  11. I remember going back to the 1990s when the Mohawk Valley collection came out that people were excited that a HG SC4 was going to be found in the context of it being a book for which HG copies didn't exist. So I don't think there are many out there uncertified.
  12. It disappointed greatly the first time it sold at auction. DC does so poorly compared to Marvel, I wouldn't be surprised to see it limp to a weak finish especially considering where the market is currently. 9 months ago, all bets are off. But now...
  13. This has been my experience with Heritage over the years. Some will disappoint, some will blow you away, and the latter tends to make up for the former. But unfortunately that means you have to consign volume to keep your average up. Thanks for sharing!
