  1. I consigned a large mix of books and art last year. Mostly quality stuff, but not the creme de la creme. HA got about 35% more than my conservative valuation. You can argue that my valuation was low, but it wasn't unrealistic. And the process was as smooth as you could imagine. All I have to worry about is the taxes.
  2. I just tried to sign up to bid and was told I have to send in a copy of my ID and put a $500 hold on my card?!? What kinda crack are they smoking?
  3. Good luck. I tried and they just said they have to do it because of their insurance policy. Frankly it gives me pause to spend big dollars there.
  4. That book is cover to cover awesome. Has to be one of the best interiors of the decade.
  5. I went through this recently also. I escalated it through Heritage and their insurance policy won't allow redirecting packages. It's so ridiculous because it's more secure to have it locked in a cage and have to show a photo ID than to drop it off with whoever answers the door. You can sign a waiver and have them redirect it, but you have to sign the waiver before they ship, and when I did that they shipped it without notifying me that it shipped nor having FedEx call me so I never heard it was being held and it was returned to them a second time. Plus you assume all the liability on behalf of the shipper, I wouldn't do that with anything pricey. It's really a terrible policy.
  6. It would be preferable if @adamstrange waited for me to post first
  7. Agreed. In some cases near double the most recent comps. I was hoping to nab a B&B or two, but I couldn't justify the high prices.
  8. I wouldn't use Cap 1 as a barometer. It's probably the most common big key, alongside Bat 1. There is usually at least one copy in both HA and CC auctions each quarter, and often more than one in each auction. At some point, everyone who wants one will have one or pass on the opportunity to buy one. Not to mention it's peaking on its recent exponential growth curve. It's following the trend of AF 15 recently where people think it's declining, but rather than declining it's reached a price point that encourages buyers to be a bit more picky. Not all 6.0s are equal, and as others have pointed out, this was not a great 6.0. If you're talking about a book with fewer available copies, you take what you can get. The more common books, buy smart. Especially at $100k plus.
  9. People always say that this time of year is bad for selling, but that hasn't been proven objectively to be the case. From my discussions with Heritage and others, they feel otherwise.
  10. Yes. I predict that one day people will pay a lot of money for Batman 1. Buy it now, while you still can!
  11. I knew I had seen a Marvel 1 on your store. I remember that book! I picked up a More Fun 14 that you had acquired from the original owner that day.
