  1. All great, but I particularly like this one and the Chilling Tales!
  2. I realize the discussion we had on this issue may have come across as rude and I didn't want it to seem that way. It's the equivalent of choosing between supermodels. I've personally wanted to own this copy in the past all that to say... killer book!
  3. Possibly my favourite cover of the run. Great story. Yes - perhaps mine too. It would appear that black cowled Nazis work for both of us. Or, ahem, maybe its the babe in Tyrolean garb? Anyone have a preference for another Fight cover over this one? 5, 6, 11, 13, 20, 28, 31.... So, not many then? Yeah, if the execution were better on this one I would have a greater fondness for it... it's hard to beat flying body parts. But it's a little too cartoony, the quality of the art isn't great, and the perspective is terrible. Don't get me wrong, given the opportunity I'd snag this sweet Church copy in a heartbeat! But I might snag a few more first.

  5. No, he listed 5. I think 10 is one of the best out there. I didn't include my copy in this pic, but how can you not love that cover?!?
  6. For a guy with no powers, The Clown sure gave Magno and Davey a lot of trouble ( Lex Luthor). He,s even in books where he wasn't the cover protagonist, like this one. That cover is one of a kind chaos! (And still one i need ) It's not every non-super powered villain that can simultaneously control faceless men, a skeleton dentist, a torture wheel, and dissolve people in acid. That is some serious multi-tasking. He was quite the Arch nemisis! Iv'e always wondered what would be considered the top 10 favorite covers from the publishers super hero line. And then, what would be considered the 10 hardest to find(not an easy feat with this publisher. Maybe all the 'fans' could compile their list, much like they do on the Timely thread (and have started to do on my other favorite hang out thread MLJ)and we'd come up with a close consensus. Super Mystery v6 #3 is a great classic(but not in my top 10 faves. I'd vote: Four Favorites #24, #27, #6, #7 and #5 Super-Mystery Comics v3 #1, v3 #2, v3 #4 Lightning conics v1 #5, v3 #1 Sure-Fire Comics #2 and this list was NOT easy to decide. Killer covers abound!! Can't argue too much, but I'd include Four Favorites 10 as part of the top 5.

That cover is one of a kind chaos! (And still one i need ) Thats awesome Frisco!! Thats not the only splash in that issue that ROCKs!! How about the Captain Courageous one with Captain Nippo and the Man eating Albino Apes !! Four Favorites 10 has albino apes. Is that the one you're thinking of?
  8. My copy. Presents well, but has some issues.
  9. That book doesn't get as much credit for being rare as it should. It's tremendously difficult to find, especially that nice. That copy looks at least 4.0, which is nicer than any other copy I've seen. Congrats!
  10. I had never seen it. Supposedly 3 were found in the Lloyd j estate I had never seen one until 7-8 years ago. Then the 3 Jacquet copies hit shortly after another one was listed (IIRC, Jerry Weist offered the first, which had better PQ than the Jacquets).
  11. Liberated this one from its tomb. Fortunately, the robot did not attack me once it was released.
  12. Great book. Is that yours? Yes sir.
  13. Congrats, that particular issue is notorious for dust shadows. Not easy to find one that attractive!
  14. That's because the SEC won't ever schedule anyone else out of conference. Except Alabama, they have actually made a little bit of an effort. tigers have played oregon, wvu, tcu, wisconsin, etc. out of conference lately. i think we schedule tougher ooc than 'bama does. understand, i am aware of cupcakes in the ooc schedule for lsu, as well. Fair point. LSU has made an effort.
  15. That's because the SEC won't ever schedule anyone else out of conference. Except Alabama, they have actually made a little bit of an effort. Florida plays F$U every year... Come back to me when Florida plays a game north of the Mason-Dixon line and West of the Mississippi.

  17. Thanks guys, it's a very fun run to pursue and own. Now for upgrading! I missed on every Church I bid on in both rounds of offerings.
  18. All the Zip war covers are tough. I've tried to figure out if any one stands out as tougher than the others & all I can really say is that 21 & 27 are a bit easier to find than the rest.
