  1. I love the litho! This type of stuff is my favorite art. It's essentially an illusion to convince your mind that you see something.
  2. This one coming in just under the wire. I've wanted a copy like this for at least 15 years. Anyone familiar with this book knows how hard it is to find without a dust shadow. Metropolis had an 8.5 for years that was a whole lot cheaper than this one, but I wouldn't have been happy with it.
  3. I appreciate you sharing this. So much of the discussion on these boards is focused on the financials of collecting. While that's important, there are many of us who aren't nearly as concerned with price as with getting the right copy of the right book. That's what makes us collectors. Congrats on getting the copy you wanted.
  4. Two that just came to mind, they are more atomic age than SA, but worth mentioning. Both came out of the south. The "cereal box" collection -- books that were stored in cereal boxes, and the "hole in the wall" collection.
  5. Can someone explain the A/PI graph for 1900? Were only men immigrating? Were women not included in the census? - edit -- reading up on the Page act...
  6. +1 I'd love to know how you got such great scans
  7. The fading in the center of the cover is related to what's printed on the inside of the cover. Don't ask me how, I can't explain it unless the covers were in stacks before they were bound to the interior. But the orange part centrally is where there's an inside ad. But the red on that issue is notoriously delicate and near impossible to find without some fading.
  8. That's exactly what I plan on doing with my collection when I sell. I was going to draw all over them with markers so that people will pay more.
  9. I see a ton of Colletta and not a lick of Baker.
  10. Really is a nice selection of GA stuff. Not a ton of ultra HG, but a lot of classic covers in very collectible grades. Should be fun to watch!
  11. Interesting that they pulled the "love" font from 3 other titles.
  12. That's part of the reason I'd pay $99K. I'd probably triple my money.
  13. I'd pay $99k for it right now. This one's going to go nuts.
