  1. Totally. I can't believe people are talking about comics on a comic book discussion forum. Clowns.
  2. Would you rather have a chalizard or the Mile High More Fun 73?
  3. That is really freaking cool. I know it's blasphemy, but I like this St. John cover better than most of the Brundage ones.
  4. I thought I remember him telling me that he did it and then made a profit selling them all.
  5. This is a good example of an item finding its max value. It's flawed to think that all comics are the same and all comics have an infinite growth potential. The Church AMan 5 is going to hold its value around what it is. It will go up and down maybe 10-15% depending on the conditions of the particular auction, but it's probably always going to have that same relative value, adjusting for inflation. Why? It's already reached its potential. There's nobody making more AMan books and definitely not making a movie. So its value is going to be what it's already established at among the collectors' market. This is true of a lot of the older stuff. The prices are driven by collectors, not investors, and long-term collectors, not new blood. Over time some of the new blood will trickle back to GA and one of them will be dumb enough to buy this book again at its value, but they'll really like owning it for what it is. But nobody is entering the market to get this book. And all the new blood entering the market is what drives up the prices on that stuff through competition.
  6. I plan on taking every book in every thread, waiting to pay for 3 years, then welching on everything that hasn't gone up. Is that acceptable?
  7. Rules: no probies, no HOSers, I reserve the right to sell to whom I choose. In the case of ambiguous timing of I'll take its or negotiations I reserve the right to make judgement calls. But I'll favor outright "take it" over anything else. Payment is by Paypal or check/MO. Shipping is FedEx overnight in the US at $50, international I'll prefer FedEx as well and we can figure that out. No returns on CGC graded books. Other than that, I think it's pretty straightforward. Two great books. The ASM 15 is one I think I'll regret selling, it's just waiting to explode. The 14 is only being let go because I have a raw copy that I like just as much and takes up less room in my boxes. ASM 14 CGC 8.0 OWW. Presents fantastically. Has a small pinkish stain on the back cover that likely holds the grade down because it looks much nicer. It has some NCB wear visible through the slab, so presumptively has not been pressed, but who knows. The stain is nowhere near as vivid as shows on my scan, my scanner highlights reds too much and I can't get it to tone down. On that note the reds on the FC aren't as vivid either. I took a picture of both books to give a better idea of colors. Asking Sold ASM 15 CGC 8.5 OW. Again, a great looking book. Supposedly this guy is getting a series, who knows. Regardless, this is a great copy. Asking Sold
  8. Yup. It's not as simple as pedigree vs. non pedigree. Even among pedigrees, people are generally going to want the nicer book. In the case of Church copies, they're usually the nicest one. With SA pedigrees that's not always the case. So many of them are exceptional, but there are often comparable non-pedigree copies.
  9. It was a really brave concept from Krigstein. This doesn't work without the right colorist. Fortunately he had Marie Severin.
  10. When I first started collecting centaurs in the 1990s () I saw a couple of this issue. I mistakenly assumed that meant it was common. After many years I realized that was not the case at all. Congrats!
  11. Whoever bought the movie posters is probably kicking themselves.
  12. I get all the reasoning behind why divorces are the way they are legally, but this just doesn't seem right. 2 wrongs don't make a right.
