  1. The only reason I was thinking to hide the post is that the comic will soon be listed for sale. It's not a big deal and it is a great thread, thank you! I thought to hide it for the above reason, though. So completely up to you, especially if my lack of experience with having - let alone selling - books like this is making me overly cautious/paranoid/weird.
  2. Hi @CGC Mike - I was trying to find a way to delete this post, but couldn't find the hide or delete options. Is this a moderator only feature. If so, can I request this post be hidden/deleted? Thanks! NM found the hide! EDIT: No, I didn't. Doesn't seem like I can hide the whole thread. Is this something you can do if allowed? Thanks!
  3. my good friend @flying_bison doesn't use a scanner but does take stellar photos as well! I ask him how he does it and he says "I use my phone"
  4. My good friend @flying_bison calls this the poor man’s #5, and I love that
  5. I don't have #15, and am assuaging my FOMO by posting my favorite yellow cover, the one that started it all for me, my beloved copy of Fantastic Four #2 with it's supple pages and peachy interiors. I bought a lot of FF from this collector after this one, and have started calling them the SARGENT BOOKSTORE PEDIGREE in my house
  6. Namor with all that cake on the cover of #14. Every subby cover in early FF is so great. WHAT YOU STARING AT SUE?!
  7. Sure, but please don’t judge me if I drive by your house in a truck full of cigarettes after the sale.
  8. Can’t believe I didn’t react to this previously, bud! Thank you so much. I have to say that in a hobby like this that can easily foster FOMO and a bunch of other crappy feelings, the genuine excitement and generosity of spirit I see every time I share a win is probably my favorite part of collecting (right after getting back a 9.8 on a silver book lol). Truly grateful for all the camaraderie.
  9. That is a GREAT 5.0. And perfect evidence for what a completely BS grade 4.5 is
  10. Recent pickup! Had been looking for one for a while. Happy w it, obv, but also have come to the conclusion that if 7.5 might be favorite grade to collect, 4.5 might be my least favorite.
  11. Speaking of “alternative editions”, I don’t know if I’ve already shared my absolute favorite green label ever here.
  12. Haha, yes he was like that for a while and even in the new movies. I call him the hirsute hulk. And now I have to share my fave. You guys, look how French l’incroyable Hulk is. I really had to stop myself from buying this when it came up bc I was just floored at the genius of this slight change to a serge gainsbourg hairstyle as a way to totally change him
  13. Took me forever to place the model for Kirby’s hulk in this (and even more so in issue 25) - Karl Malden! I was like “I know that face, character actor,…”
  14. Never saw the big deal about this issue til I got it and now I love it and want to upgrade
  15. Haha nope! Those start at issue 20 if I’m not mistaken, except my #2 and #9 was from that collection. These are from various places.
  16. O for auction soon at Comiclink: signed by Stan Goldberg! So cool to see a different signature, I’m a HUGE Stan Goldberg fan, and his sig has real style
  17. As we say in Italian "UFFA with these 9.0s!" That is GORGEOUS
  18. Hey! So sorry I didn't catch this before others did. so yeah, you can basically tell them not to slab it if it doesn't reach a certain grade. It prolongs the grading process sometimes, but if you're like me and you really only slab to sell or if they're so high grade you don't want to mess them up, it's a great service.
  19. Ah, a subscription crease. My single favorite defect. I'll take it any day over spine wear and it knocks down the price so much!
