but it doesn't transform the book into a newsstand
That's what I would think as well @shadroch, and yet the label clearly says 'Newsstand Edition' but there clearly isn't a barcode underneath the sticker...

Just saw this one pop up on MCS & it seemed relevant - it's a SW Heir to the Empire 7.5, Qualified, but no notes on the label:

The grader notes say 'sticker on cover' - but I'm not seeing it - unless the sticker is the barcode? but if that's the case wouldn't it not be Newsstand?

That might be part of it - I once sent an 8.5 book back to CGC for a press & regrade & it came back a 9.8 (but have also sent in easy 9.8 books for a press/grade and had them come back as 9.4s, so ymmv)
Some of those defects might come out with a press, but I did find out that 'creasing' can sometimes refer to actual fiber breaks in the paper (and not what I would normally think of as a 'crease'), which I don't think would come out with a press.

Did you get it pressed?

They posted somewhere the black panther, jane foster, spider-gwen and miles morales.
Does that imply that we're only getting 4 new ones..?

Thank you @CGC Mike - I've said it before and will say it again - the customer service side of CGC is great - responsive, courteous and (reasonably) effective, but the QC side leaves a lot to be desired. If the QC side can be improved, it'll be a lot less for the CS side to deal with.

I received a book a while back that had some scuffs and scrapes on the slab, so I sent it back in for a Mechanical Error. I received the same book back yesterday, and it still has obvious scuffs and scrapes on it, but when I resubmit for a 2nd ME, the form tells me I can no longer select 'slab damaged in transit' because I received the book over 14 days ago.
Can we no longer resubmit damaged slabs for Mechanical Errors more than once? So if the slab we receive after the 1st Mechanical Error is damaged, but no longer eligible to be resubmitted, that leaves the submitter with a damaged slab and no recourse? I'm hoping this is just a website error and not a policy change, as I've had to submit many books in for more than one round of Mechanical Error.

Received two SS books back from the 1st round of ME - both have scratches and scrapes on the slabs and one came back without the custom label.
I tried to create the order for the 2nd round of ME, and it won't let me select damage, claiming I received the books over 14 days ago. I received the books today.

That is very cool.
Thx! yeah I was thinking about doing an 'everybody signs #1' Futurama book, but this seemed more interesting - also getting everyone to sign a single book would be a big hit to the wallet, and this seemed to lessen the blow, or at least slow it down over time
I couldn't find a good one for Phil LaMarr tho. I got a couple other Futurama sigs (my fav I think is Welker), but they're not singles on the census, so I posted them over in the Celebrity thread.

I don't think these are super unique, but currently these are the lone signed versions of these books, so I'll throw them up here:
Black Panther signed by Ivan Tao:
Futurama 72 signed by Katey Sagal - placement didn't quite get there:
And Futurama 43, signed by Lauren Tom:
Very happy to have these in the collection, but also have the nagging feeling of 'why is no one else having these books signed...'
Oops forgot about these two as well:

Finally wrapped up the grading on my Futurama books - a couple of them are the lone SS books on the census which I guess is nice - happy with the way they all turned out save for #72 : / - didn't quite get the placement right, but still nice to have it signed!
Shout outs to @DELTA 62, @Triston Pence and AlphaOmega for the facilitation duties!
