  1. What's your IG? Will check it out.
  2. 9.2! Scrolling through the pics was thinking 9.6 What brought it down to 9.2, the corners? Are there grader notes?
  3. The pin-up is clutch for these early SA Marvels. Like the Value Stamp is for BA books. I have an ASM 20 with the pin-up cut out, but got it way back for cheap...
  4. Thanks to all for the grades so far. Was thinking 5.5 (Will take the 6.0 tho, thanks!) As I said earlier, I hadn't seen the book in about 5 years and for some reason was remembering that it was a lower grade and had it in my head that the pinup could possibly be missing as is not uncommon for early SA Marvels. Was happy when I did finally get to the box and pull it to see that it's a mid-grade and complete!
  5. I've had this book at least 25 years. I moved and had everything stored in a walk-in closet. Boxes all wrapped in plastic for protection. Haven't seen it in 5 years. Recently started going through boxes. Complete and attached. Thanks for looking!
  6. This thread really blew up! Some great books and info. Interesting to learn that some of these were file or remainder copies. Amazing books here that I would love to have in my collection! Especially that CSS 22! Found some more Daredevils...
  7. Going through a box and found these books that were hole punched to clip into a 3 ring binder! I didn't do this. Knew I had them, but haven't seen them in awhile. Some kid back in the day probably thought that it was a cool way to carry their comics. Maybe stealth read them in class with the teacher thinking that they were reading the assignment!? Cool books otherwise and great readers. I know I have a few more somewhere. I remember a BA Joker 1. Will have to look for that. I know this really isn't that uncommon, so show them if you got them...
  8. Fascinated by the whole 60s, 70s & 80s era of NYC. So much great art, music and culture that came out of those decades. Wish that I could have lived there then. Was too young for the 60s & 70s, but did spend some time there in the 80s. Interesting read from someone who was in it. Heard he recently passed. RIP.
  9. 4.0...solid book. Did you count the pages? These early SA Marvels are notorious for having the pin-up pages missing... This is the pin-up in that was in that book...
  10. There were a lot of knowledgeable people at the card grading seminar. One person that I met there and shared a table with came in third in the grading test and won some money and I assume was offered a job. Think he was from Chicago and probably in his early 30s. Not sure if he did take the job with CGC, but I'm guessing he did. When I first met him he told me that was his plan, work for CGC and live in Florida away from the cold and snow.
  11. Just received the acceptance email and sent rsvp today. Was wondering who's going? I attended the card grading seminar in Sarasota and was a great time and met a lot of great people. My main collecting focus is comics and magazines, so really looking forward to this. Also, I live in Tampa not too far from the convention center, so there's that
  12. Recently picked up this copy of the March 1977 National Lampoon. Decent condition for a good price. This issue has the Heavy Metal Magazine preview / sampler in it. A full month before the first issue of Heavy Metal was released in April 1977. Been a fan, reader and sometime collector of National Lampoon and Heavy Metal for years, but didn't know this existed. Here's a link to some info on the preview / sampler: http://theporporbooksblog.blogspot.com/2019/03/heavy-metal-preview-1977.html
  13. I have an empty Series B book. Will have to dig it out and post a pic. Not thinking of selling right now, but what is the value of an empty book?
  14. Here's mine. Got this 10 or more years ago in an MS lot buy. Have the MS 1-11 run and GR 1-20... Not high grade, but nice to have in my collection and wasn't crazy money when I got it...
  15. 5.5 - Nice book. Weren't they all NEWSSTAND EXCLUSIVES back then? What year did Marvel start mail subscriptions? And when did the NEWSSTAND vs. DIRECT start? 90s?
  16. 6.5 - Nice book with great color! Had my tape pull on a Hulk 101 in a short box lot that I was looking to buy many years ago. Was painful!...
  17. Picked this up about 10 years ago in an MS lot buy #3-12. Ahh...the days when not all first appearances were major keys... Crappy pics, but thanks for looking...
  18. For a belated Wally Wood Happy Birthday! (took awhile to dig this out) I have a Wally Wood signature that I found in a low grade Weird Science 19 that was bought on ebay 2011/12 maybe? There were only front and back cover pics with no interior pics. At that time low grade / reader ECs could be had for low $$. When I received and opened the book, my first impression was that a past owner had written their name on the first page until I took a closer look. Then I looked through the rest of the book! Also has a Joe Orlando and Al Williamson sig. All signed on the pages of their stories. The seller hadn't listed the sigs in the auction and when I asked him about it he said he was unaware that they were in there! So, he wasn't the person that got the sigs. He also told me he was 90% sure that he had bought the book in the mid 80s from Golden Age Express that was in the same building as Big Apple Comics in NYC. I posted this on the Facebook EC Fan Addict page a few years ago, so if there are members here you may remember this. Book is beat but complete with detached cover. Sorry for the crappy phone pics...
  19. Classic Howard Nostrand cover and Bob Powell Colorama story! Beat but complete. Tape holding the the cover on. Presents well. Multiple issues, but still an awesome pre-code book! Was thinking 1.5?
  20. Hello All, Gave up selling on Ebay and have started an Etsy store. Has done well in the first month, better than Ebay where there was always more watchers than buyers. Check it out and favorite it as I will be adding more as I go through my collection / hoard! Here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/GraphicEquation Follow on Instagram for updates: http://www.instagram.com/graphicequation/ Thanks!
  21. Know someone that worked at Marvel in the 80-90s and they said that this guy actually worked at Marvel. Not sure who he is or what he did there...
