  1. I get that a comic (or anything for that matter) is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. No ill will, slander or insult towards the sellers. I wish them success and all the best, but at least do your homework, check the price guides and ebay sold auctions. Here's one that I looked at and actually got an offer from the seller to discount it by $100. (wasn't in my watch list and didn't make an offer, but I guess that's something you can do on ebay for people that just view an item) I politely declined and replied that this isn't the first appearance of the Punisher (if that's what they're assuming) and that ASM 129 is and can be a $2000 comic depending on condition, and to look at sold auctions. https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-PUNISHER-1-comic-book-by-Marvel-1987-Vintage-37-years-old/114567574436?hash=item1aacc273a4:g:c5UAAOSwv4xf0Mdl

  7. Right! I thought that too, but half the people there probably didn't know who he was or were too busy chasing after the My Little Pony book or whatever crappy comic flavor of the month was happening back then....
  8. Met and talked with Berni Wrightson at the Boston Con. Not sure of the year, but might have been 2011? He was in the back with noone at his table! Nice guy! In hindsight...wish that I would have got a Swamp Thing or Frankenstein monster commission from him....didn't even get his autograph! Just shook his hand and talked for a bit... Met Neal Adams at Tampa Con last year. Bought a print of GL GA 85 and got it signed. Talked to him and his wife for a bit. Remember saying how it sucked that DC and Marvel were not in NYC anymore. His response was: "What are you going to do?" "Things change" "You can't go back in time" or a version of that ... Nice guy, friendly and down to earth...
  9. I have a couple of these and never realized or noticed that Morbius is misspelled!!! Duh!
  10. Thanks for the info comicjack. Probably won't be heading down for a month or two. Will update this thread after I do go.
  11. Recently moved to Tampa from MA. Once I get settled was thinking of getting my books together that I've been meaning to get slabbed / graded. Sarasota is an easy drive south, so was wondering what kind of experiences boards members have had dropping off books at the CGC offices.
  12. ASM 90 - Death of Capt. Stacy. Pete loses another Father figure! Also, the fact that he knew Peter's identity and asks him to take care of Gwen! (we all know how that worked out!) ........and Pete and Aunt May in ASM 400.
  13. Posted on the Facebook EC Fan-Addict Club Subtle, but might possibly be NSFW. The Orlando memo to Gaines is great! Check it out here: http://www.cbr.com/tales-from-the-crypt-x-rated-prank-joe-orlando-bill-gaines/
  14. Here's my Showcase 37. Came from an OO collection.
  15. Found this sheet of Spidey decals in a box of comics I got a few years ago. Was just curious if anyone knows about them? Were they an insert or from a decal pack?
  16. Early 70's Spidey iron-on tee (posted earlier in another thread) Not sure of exact year, but bought it in the Summer of '74 or '75.
  17. Anyone looking for FEB 10 1970? There's an IM 25 offered on a sales thread here (not mine) and an IH 118 with a MAY 15 1969 stamp on the second page. Link: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=9786912
  18. Cool! I've seen a couple unused on Ebay with the same coloring. There's also one that's the same pose except that its Blue, Red & Black. I think that one may be an earlier version. This one has sentimental value. I have memories of the day when I bought it, but don't remember the exact year. Most likely the Summer of '74 or '75.
  19. Thanks for the advice, but the iron-on is a bit fragile and would be afraid that it would get damaged. Will probably just leave it as is.
  20. Uh yeah.....wore it at the 1975 NYC Marvel Convention.
