  1. I’d prefer the wife to have money. No win for me
  2. That implies the wife has money to put n an account
  3. I believe I was under bidder, only reason I know. I use that to remind myself that if I want something, long term better to just go after it.
  4. there are certainly some hg copies still out there in fortresses or mylars, or maybe even saran wrap (am I dating myself ) and you are correct, I'd guess there are 1000's of ungraded af15's out there...action 1's?....maybe 200-250 out there, including the ones that are certified (we will never know)... that was kind of my point, what does a 3.6 mil bid on a comic say about a characters popularity when compared to another?...like you, I don't think a thing (your apples to oranges!)
  5. Halperin paid 40k+ for the surfer 1 cover back in 2002 iirc
  6. I like your other personas better spidey may very well be the most popular in the world. I’m not trying to show anything other than Batman outsells Spider-Man in current comics, licensed t shirts and legos …that’s all.
  7. Comics are upgraded all the time. And if you were a serious bidder for this book you registered as a phone bidder or were there live in person. No one seriously interested in this book would rely on internet bidding. No asterisk needed (imo)
  8. Not comics or licensed t shirts. Those 2 are pretty big indicators in the comic world (which hero you read, which hero you wear). In the general public , no idea, Spider-Man might sell more merch, I’ve never seen a comparison across all categories. Lego sells more bm vs spidey too…but marvel lego far and away sell more than dc
  9. Main Batman title and 3 other batman title outsold Asm. Each. So it’s not a combined thing.
  10. If we measure based on current comics, Batman blows amazing Spider-Man away in sales numbers. That’s certainly an indicator I would think that Batman is still #1 appears more Batman tshirts sell versus Spider-Man too.
  11. You came to that conclusion after the 9.6 sold for 3.6. Did you think that before? just curious. He may well be the most popular. Would be interesting how we could measure that
  12. So a 5.0 tec 27 recently sells for 1.2mil and a 5.0 af15 recently sold 75k. How are you correlating that spidey is #1 hero (not saying he’s not) but the sale of a 9.6 af15 doesn’t affect that at all?
  13. So 3.6 mil seemed to be right at the high end of realistic expectations. Congrats to Scott!
  14. the live bidding worked fine...there was no issue with bidding
  15. Were you buying 6 figure books then? If so , would have been very easy to discover all venues with a simple search
  16. I'm guessing all buyers of 250K books are well aware of heritage and CC and clink etc... they might not see an IG seller, but I find it hard to believe folks don't do due diligence or 6 figures books...most all are likely already involved in the hobby to some extent and are well aware of sources...my
