  1. It seems all the classic covers are getting an uptick these days. Dynamic 8 would be considered undervalued when one considers copies rarely surface for sale , so it only takes 2 wanting a copy to really hit prices
  2. It's cool, but so few copies have actually sold that we can't say it's commanding crazy prices as none I'm aware of have sold in forever
  3. I love worlds finest. I believe it to be a combo of the covers and the stories (they don't team up until what, issue 71?)
  4. See pm As most know, CGC will not recognize the signature unless they witness it in person
  5. Many of the baseball aficionados I've talked to put Rose top 20, maybe even top 10/15. Many not even top 20! I've never heard anyone say greatest ever. He just wasn't (as much as I loved to watch him play).
  6. House names were used by many early comic houses for reasons you stated ....that is how they were published and Likely why cgc notates as such
  7. Has a stain on back and 3" split. Graded right in line with cgc
  8. They are all super tough 3&4 toughest. Then 2&5. 1 is tough but occasionally you can find one in the market for sale
  9. Has this been answered? I heard that these were destroying when the World Trade Towers went down 9/11 nope
  10. Schmell fetched $4MIL He did have an X-men #1 9.8 go for $492K so that was a big chunk. Still too hard to tell how big Berk's collection is. I believe when you add in the OA, this collection will easily surpass 4mil
  11. it is a fantastic coined term for sure it's actually made me think on those lines of logic many times these past few years where it was always the scale before this is way easier. thanks Pal!!! on a random note i miss the GAtor chomping that i used to see on the old boards it doesn't move anymore on my phone on the new boards. Wayback when I first started using the "price per point" method, I had actually written a pretty nice market report for the Overstreet price guide detailing my thoughts behind the price per point strategy. In a nutshell it just afforded me a very quick way to assess buying and selling silver age keys (I was not a user of gpa ... at the time, so I had to develop my own strategy ). I knew , for example, I could sell hulk 1s for about $1000 per CGC numerical point and therefore I was able to walk the convention floor (or assess online auctions) and purchase as long as folks had them priced less than that. I shared my strategy with several CGC boardies and dealers at that San Diego comic con and it seem to slowly take off from there !
  12. great news for me...I have filed my copyright on the "price per point" terminology that is in usage in regards to cgc grades and values.... from here on out, if you intend to use it, please paypal me $1 for every mention... thank you (smelling the money that is going to be rolling in!)
  13. "Funny Pages" (Comics Magazine ) 2 Lost Valley So first go around I was fortunate enough to procure the lost valley copies of comic mag 1-5. Sold them off in my first purge. A great boardie was kind enough to sell me the 2-5 back this summer (allowing another collector to get my 2-5 in one shot!)
  14. I've not been to any in Orlando but I'm sure there are some shops that carry. Hit the yellow pages and hopefully your walking fingers will hit pay dirt!
