  1. 26 gets the love , but 3 is my fav Prescott appears a legit NFL qb
  2. premium to American counterparts? Nope
  3. As we all know, bob doesn't even list "cgc" prices in the guide and these cover centric cgc driven "classics" aren't likely to ever be broken out. 26,27 (V), 29 (hitler), 30 (flag), 33 (swastika), etc are all wonder raboy covers. Ask parker, it's a tough little run to put together. Many issues seem to rarely be sold or auctioned , especially in decent condition.
  4. Are we talking about a handful of keys, or is the demand being felt across entire runs? Are the buyers already involved in G.A., or are they buyers from other ages who are motivated by relatively low prices? early issues sell briskly (1-10) and keys (25) etc
  5. I threw that out there without any real idea but sounds like 10-1 is more like it. Happy Bird day G.A.Tor along that sentiment I hope everyone has a Wonderful Thanksgiving with their friends and family and loved ones! The same to you and your family. May the turkey be flavorful and the football competitive! One more stray thought on Archie and early Peps. Clearly Archie's first appearance gives a huge boost to Pep 22. But his first cover appearance in Pep 36 doesn't give that book anything like the boost that, say, Action 7 gets from having Superman on the cover. Not really an apples to apples comparison, but the discrepancy is still surprisingly large, imo. peps seem less about cover to their fans/collectors
  6. The superhero buyer gravitates towards the as/ww etc. the more diversified collector seems to go with pep /Archie first. Not so much age or culture as it is mainstream affecting some choices
  7. Until we get a strong strong tec 27 sale (like the 9.2) unlikely to happen Batman , unrestored won't surpass superman imo

  9. i would put it 11-13 for sure. On a rare day maybe 10
  10. Absolutely. And I still think it's a top book, but that all depends on how we define top 10. If it's just top copy then I'd expect the Church #22 to sell for a record number and beat out many of the top 10 GA books. If we are defining top 10 in terms of sale value then you have to compare apples to apples. So you would have to ask yourself if a 9.6 mile high pep 22 would realize a higher price vs a 9.6 mile high All-Star 8? And so forth Corvette vs lamborghini nope. Not if the contention is that pep 22 deserves to be in front of all star 8. Straight up , head to head...."car vs car" (or comic vs comic in this case)

  12. The first thing that comes to most every collector when asked about pep 22 is A)first Archie B) classic war cover My guess is A by an overwhelming %
  13. Stray thought: Given how WW II cover Peps have been soaring, I wonder whether Pep 22's value is now more from the cover than from being the first Archie? I doubt it
  14. I think grade for grade a tec 31 and action 7 would out perform pep 22, but likely not by much...that's why I would consider it a "top 10" book...I just chose 2 books (as8 and whiz 1) that I think are still due for larger pricing increases... not sure pep 22 will have a "large" increase relatively speaking, over next few years so you see whiz 1 spiking as we approach movie release ...? yes...demand for the big red cheese is on the upswing

  16. not even close. Batman 1 in 5.0 would be about 180-200k and tec 31 in 5.0 about 125... as an example. Too 10 ga books still much the same (this list in no particular order) Action 1 Tec27 Superman 1 Batman 1 Cap 1 Marvel 1 Action 7 Tec 31 Last 2 there are bunch of potential candidates but I like all star 8 and whiz 2(1) moving forward Gator, I'm wondering where you would rank Pep 22 and Archie 1 (as well as Flash Comics 1 and All American 16). Are none of those even close to "Top 10" worthy? -J. the Pep 22 would be one of those "potential" candidates... books like archie 1, flash 1 and aa 16 and adv 40 and mf 52, would be top 20 somewhere, I suspect
  17. Haven't seen enough sales to determine if margin is narrowing. My gut says "no"

  19. So it is you who its responsible for the crazy prices on Pre-Robin Batman's. Get the torches and pitchforks folks ! we were pre robin tecs long before Wayne
  20. as we saw with the pep 1 in today's heritage , not much correlation at all...they will keep on keeping, but a unique set such as the MH "shouldn't" affect fmv on "normal" copie, to any noticeable extent
  21. sure...there are many collectors that like to purchase, collect, try to make complete copies out of...
  22. I have about 20 pieces of OA...all silver surfer....have a few Kirby's, buscema's, a cover, and some Lim, byrne, etc.... oa is neat, just not my thing...high profile pieces probably a good investment, but some lessor demand, really a tough call...
  23. Yup, clearly the elite of college football this year. Western Michigan vs. Alabama for the national championship? That's what they all said 2 years ago. Go Buckeyes! Sorry Ricky...You KNOW i can't pass this up!! OH..........IO!!!! Your boys got a BIG remake win in today though congrats!! another one of you on my "list" now
