  2. not sure too many would concur there is a best. There are many great. Phantom lady 17 always is near the top of gg lists.
  3. afa started in 2002 or so...hasn't really caught on outside of some star wars folks (and even then, they kind of got a black eye missing some fakes)...
  4. susan is a highly trained and well respected restorer in this hobby... I rank her up there at or near the top for sure...
  5. gabe, if you have a smart phone, you don't need lists, or memorizing or any of that...the information is accessible almost instantly these days thanks to technology... that said, I've read a good bit of the thread and the one underlying advice a multitude (almost 100%) of boardies have given you, you refuse to follow... now, I don't know you much, but I do gather you enjoy the business of comics... that said, if you don't have the aptitude for it (whether a ld or not), you are destined to continue making the same mistakes ... trying harder or taking other advice, won't likely change that however, I can't and won't give you specific advice, as I am not qualified to relative to your situation... but I will offer this general piece of advice... "if at first you don't succeed...try, try again...if you still don't succeed, try something else"....
  6. I believe "if" dc does create a monthly shazam comic and "if" they do the proposed captain marvel movie, interest will pick up for the title and values will increase...
  7. now you're just rubbing it in I'm not saying you bailed too soon, but you did. I didn't bail at all , as I never even bid which in hindsight I could have
  8. one sale on my margins doesn't even pay for a hamburger
  9. I still price and value sens 1 over WW 1...don't think it has taken it over "voldy" is the name the board gives to cbcs graded books
  10. They won't report if buyer requests them not to. Isn't that only with but it now's? I was under the impression all auction sales get reported, per the agreement with GPA. @entalrmighty1- Comiclink is the auction house that doesn't report to GPA. -J. cc doesn't report all auction sales ...The whiz 1 cgc 6.5 perfect example
  11. Yes. Action 15 is the next to "pop"
  12. Reported and down now. These dumb theives and scammers need to go find a whole somewhere..... a whole what?
  13. was a pleasure as well. I never started a "kudos" thread but the kind words are appreciated!
  14. I beat gpa by a bit...sold a 4.0 for 20K and a 5.0 for 30K less than 2 weeks ago...and a 4.5 for 19K a month ago...
  15. I've never had the desire to own this book. I'll see Harley Yee or some other major dealer at a show and ask to see their Hulk 1, AF 15, Adventure 247, but in all my years of collecting, I have never requested to see a Showcase #4. I can understand its significance as the 1st Silver Age book (although arguements can be made against it), but the Flash is a second tier DC character, and the Silver Age resurgence of Superheroes was 50 years ago and for folks in my age group (between 30-40), it doesn't mean a lot. We always had Superhero comics around, and more significantly, Marvel Superheroes. Having said all of the above, I see this book dropping several notches in desirability and relative OPG value against other books in the next few years, but that's just my opinion. Anyone think otherwise? Anybody remember the book's price range at the time of this post in 2010? In 2010 I sold cgc 4.0 for 3200 Cgc 7.5 was 20k
  16. Were you the original seller of that book as a 5.5? as Roy knows I wasn't the original seller but I bought from clink (I think ) when it was a 5.5 and sold it a bit later Next time I saw it was in a 6.5 holder. Then I saw in a 7.0 and now a 7.5 It did have 2 long non color breaking creases at one point (wish I pressed it )
  17. hands down Theres no way a beater with makeup will crack a milly. thats beyond insane imho - even in 10 years If the 9.6 restored is getting offers over 300k right now than its a mil in 10 years. Um...no
  18. there is certainly always going to be "collectors"....the real question is how many and for what genre/niche... precodes are cool and should maintain some semblance of followers for a good bit of time to come, though no collectible is ever "safe"
  19. my fav You'd probably like this then from the mid 1970's. nice
