  1. wow. No idea what the other 9 are Most likely the discrepancy is in the "semi-Centaurs". For example, some may consider only a few of the issues published by those other companies as semi-Centaurs and might therefore exclude Detective Picture Stories. GCD summarizes the history and gives links to each of the related publishers. http://www.comics.org/publisher/58/ I'm good with comic mag co, ultem and the oversized cheslers. It's the khakis I balk at
  2. Congratulations Win!! I have never seen that book before. How close are you now to closing out the publisher? Off the top of my head (still out of town for Thanksgiving), I'd say I have around 15% more to go, say 40 out of 290. It's getting tougher for sure. just bumping this because I recently asked Win "how many" there are....he couldn't quite remember, but I had remembered him telling me many years ago 290 or 292.... so, I've always gone by that number... right now, I believe I am 4 short of complete publisher, so last night I counted how many I have... 231 is the number, but 2 are promos... so that leads me to believe I have 229 out of 233... God forbid there are 290+, but if anyone has a more accurate count, lmk... I think 233 is the number Curious to ask how long has it taken you now to have amassed your Centaur collection? First go around was 5 years. This go around 4 years with a 2 year break after intial sell off (2005-2009...sold most all 2010-11, then started collecting them again 2012)
  3. wow. No idea what the other 9 are Figured it out They list khaki (7 khaki wacki and 1 khaki komic) and a liberty guard variant That's 9 releases I don't count because they were not US comics (more like digests) So 233 is correct for my purposes

  5. I would, just for the 3rd party opinion...

  12. I think mine looks a little nicer My copy looks 9.0/9.2 Just you wait until my copy gets pressed, dry-cleaned, reverse spine rolled, dipped in honey butter, and finally glared at with bedroom eyes by Hayden Panettiere! Then we'll talk... Hayden P

  16. Gators current Centaur collection is pretty rare Yep. Amazing man 26, funny pages 40, amf1/4, star 3, comic pages 3/5, cowboy comics 14, Stars and Stripes 6/5 My guess is 5-10 or so of each are likely out there

  18. tec 27 (1st appearance) batman 1 (intro Joker) tec 38 (intro robin) batman 47 (full batman origin) tec 225 (silver age/martian manhunter) Rick, are you speaking from a historical perspective? From a demand point of view there are books that would fall into line before tec 38 ( i.e. tec 31) right? Yes. Historical. Tec 31 has more demand than 3-5 but it's not as "key" per se, imo
  19. tec 27 (1st appearance) batman 1 (intro Joker) tec 38 (intro robin) batman 47 (full batman origin) tec 225 (silver age/martian manhunter)
  20. given that a .5 just sold for 110K, and that there were multiple folks willing to pay that, that seems to be floor of FMV... may be worth 10% more or 100% more in 5 years....no one knows
  21. From what perspective? Importance? Value? Potential value? Personal preference? All of the above. Curious because I personally consider cap to be the #3 most important comic book universe character, but appears my perspective is wrong. WW beats cap out based on the recent sales...Flash and GL might also. ww is #3 in the dc universe....but Cap 1 is a more desired book I believe...
