  1. Great question and very relevant. Can't wait to hear G.A.tor's response. Can we tack on to this question what would happen to any key book, e.g. AF15, Hulk 1, Action 1, ... for the immediate future, blue chips would appear to be "relatively" safe.... though, personally I've seen some of them appreciate to aggressively of late for my tastes... Won't these blue chips eventually hit a high that they will have no where to go but down? Especially when older collectors or their heirs start selling off these comics. I'm not sure kids growing up now will have the same connection or desire to purchase these books in 30 years, as present collectors who grew up with them. I know we don't have a crystal ball, but can you see AF15 continuing to rise at its current rate and not eventually come back down to earth, market correction. Will the demand be there to pay the skyrocketing prices? they are already 50-75 years old and still skyrocketing...virtually no one buying today had any direct connection to initial release...no reason to think next generation will behave any differently... in theory all items have a ceiling price...but, mor often than not, the ceiling becomes the floor after it is reached

  3. Probably 1/2 restored. But it's not a black cover but blue Never seen one in person..? I always sort of thought it looked navy, but most pics looks black. Thank you. It's a blue cover. Never seen a pic depicting it black? Here's the Allentown copy when I used to own it My eyes just want to see it black I guess. Any idea who had the restore work done on that?Necessary do you think? no idea who or when work was done...not nec at all, but likely it was done before the restored stigma reared its head
  4. 150-200 likely Do you think the October printing is worth more than the November one? on the rare occasion I had an oct, or both, I priced the oct at a premium....not sure the market as a whole views likewise, but I did
  5. this market, like all collectible markets, is not only cyclical, but will undergo pricing corrections...now, is this 3 years or 30 years out, is anyone's guess, but it will happen....blue chips will be largely resistant, but "common" material will be affected, imo

  7. I've only seen typeset # on the marvel milestone version. All originals I've seen seem to have been produced from the 60 being hand drawn on oa used in production. Not to say it wasn't corrected somewhere, but i can't recall seeing
  8. Probably 1/2 restored. But it's not a black cover but blue
  9. Initially there were 4 "authors " involved. Rumor has it , it will be revisited sooner than later
  10. all wonderful books... tec 168 tec 40 my top 2...just wonderful books, high demand, great covers and stories...
  11. 1-was owned by a friend that recently passed 2-would reslabbing intending to sell 3-plenty of folks will insure I use collectinsure.com 4-I would remove the bad resto and re-restore professionally , however don't believe it was worth the 165 paid. But obviously worth it to the new owner Good answers to be sure, but in #3 I wasn't asking about insurance so much as identifying a worthwhile venue to lend comics to for display/public use purposes. Like this guy in London displaying his own collection is cool, but do you know anyone who has lent items to a 3rd party to "share the wealth" and whether it was a good idea in retrospect? There's a new art museum down here in Miami, maybe I'll look into that. Plenty of folks (myself included) have lent comics to various regional/local museums for display, to geppis, etc
  12. an as8 fc just sold for 4500, so probably 2-3K these days, to someone that needs a fc
  13. Fc vs bc pieces out do affect price. At entry level it's less noticeable At 3.0 is has pricing impact for sure Thanks! Hypothetically speaking how much are we speculating that it affects prices on lower grade keys. $100? $500? In this case $500

  15. AF 15 3.0 just sold for $11.5k on clink. Wow. I sold my 3.0 on the boards in 2009 for around $3k with the idea that with the market crash prices would go down and I could afford a higher grades copy. That did not work out well. Lower grade Af15 are avg 4K a point. This one slighty underperformed due to piece out front cover
  16. Mf73 has fallen about 50% from highs. And each subsequent copy is selling a little less Still well over 2 year ago pricing but a little more realistic.
  17. oh, I don't know...I offered a cgc 3.5 all star 8 in 2014 for $6500 and one just recently sold for almost 50K...seems like 500% is common these days

  19. The movie has already made almost 200 mil profit worldwide according to wb execs
  20. My guess is it would command 3-5k on the low side Yes, seems this book was on the uptick for awhile there. From your point of view, is it still trending that way or is it on a slight down tick now from its recent euphoria? What is your guess at the price per point for this book (up to 6.0 that is)? About 7k a point Thanks Gator Must still be on a slight uptick then since I thought it was on a $5K to $6K price per point range near the end of last year. high demand still

  23. look at it this way: if you want an authentic picasso his total output would be around 900-1100 pieces from which you choose. if you want a 1st batman well there is about 50-100 tec27 copies known to exist. which one is scarcer? There's way more than 50-100, FYI I figured you would have already sold that many this year and the con season has barely begun.
