1. cool book (first sad sack I think) I only need like 5 more issues to complete 1-84 on True comics~!
2. very strange. But glad the Vikings got him
3. Supply + demand= price. Since demand remains relatively stable for hg sa keys, the main variable becomes supply...that is not fixed. More and more hg copies either surface or are "created" so I see a continuing of price softening unless something leads to an increase in demand. [font:Times New Roman]Excellent points, ...and it's the created part that is the most unsettling aspect of this trend. Grade bumps (via manipulation) and the inconsistent census probably add more volatility to the market than the occasional discovery of new collections or multiple copies of currently hot books being offered for sale over a short period of time (fueling the perception of dumping). There's one more formulae worth contributing to your market equation if I may be so bold (...and you know I will): Sudden increase in demand>+ >>÷ >oversupply> = >> [font:Times New Roman]So Gator, what do you think might lead to an increase in demand? How do you see the momentum shifting, say one year out, two years out and beyond? Naturally there Are a myriad of variables that could lead to increased demand. However, all things being the same (past trends continuing forward), price point (the continued softening) is what is most likely the variabke that will lead to more demand. It is the cyclical nature of our hobby ... Next 1-2 years we might see a demand increase after market bottoming of prices.
4. the serious answer is dave alexander coined the term moons ago...he meant it to be "good" (as in well drawn) girl art... [font:Times New Roman]For some reason I read Dave Alexander as Dave Anderson! So much for my lame attempt at dental humor. I need to get my eyes flossed. Is this the same David T. Alexander who has a big presence on eBay? IIRC, there was a David Alexander who in the late 1960s published a newsletter devoted to Carl Barks. Also, I think, he bought and sold Barks books. Same person? yes... One in the same (thumbs u

7. Because its the best known copy .... the dentist's purportedly is nicer and I would bet dollar to donuts mr fishler has one as nice too But graded...yes
8. I think there have been more than 2 offers... last time I spoke to B about it he told me of a couple but no doubt there has been more!
9. It is not just me that "knows"/is of the opinion the aa16 resell is not "real", many do. But it is not for me to publicly expand on. I believe both batman 1 and Tec 31 would perform better today at auction than an aa16 (and maybe whiz 2 too) and I believe both could be privately sold for more (thumbs u Can someone link past discussion on this? not sure there is a link which is why I didn't expand

11. Recently a batman 1 cgc 8.0 sold for 200k which is pretty much what the aa16 cgc 8.0 sold for (most folks know the 300k resell was not a "real" sale for reasons discussed previously ) I also firmly believe the action 7 cgc8.0 would sell for more than 250k and I know a 250 k offer was made to Eric Roberts on his 8.0 Tec 31, but not sure if that price would be validated at an auction. Cap 1 today is nipping on marvel 1 8.0 heels...but only by a hair at auction ..but I could see marvel 1 on lower side too. So I will go "tie" 4-action 7 5-batman 1 6-detective 31 7-all American 16 8- captain America 1/marvel 1 10-whiz 2 (1). Just bc. Like aa16, rarity will offset lack of strong demand (although if we are to use past sales of lower copies, this one could be as high as 4/5)
12. On a unique book like the mile high supes 1 where a more than one million dollar offer has been refused by the owner more than once (2 diff 1mill + offers I am aware of) I would equate that to relative FMv Now if another 8.0 supes 1 hit the auction block I would guesstimate a bid in the 750k range to win it. That would keep supes 1 firmly entrenched at 3
13. I can tell you beschara has turned down way more than one million for the 8.0 (mile high superman 1). Last he told me it would take "a lot more" to get him to sell So my reconsidered guess is in 8.0 superman is #1, followed by action and detective
14. George wasn't that your old copy? My Tec #27 was a 4.0 OW - no tape. my 4.0 is ow/w
15. wonderful question... the 5 I have the most demand for are: Captain america 1 Great 3 MMC 46 (green worm ear) Real Life 3 Daredevil Battles Hitler again, those are not my 5 fav or even the 5 "best" , but those are the 5 comics I am most asked for at shows, etc, that feature hitler on cover Gator, Where does Mystic 7 and 9 fall in the Hitler cover demand in you opinion? Also, what's your take on the Destroyer Mystic covers from an investment perspective? There is quite a bit of demand. They are great covers. And they have always sold "strong". No reason form them to drop in price as there is always demand but not sure they will appreciate at same rate as more popular superhero issues. But they are fun to collect and own!
16. George wasn't that your old copy? nope... It was mine. I sold it to the current owner almost 4 yrs ago
17. you are correct. I was definitely considering ga covers. SA only it would likely be somewhere in my top 20! But B said "of all covers ". No where near the most iconic in that respect (to me !)
18. I think this cover is the most iconic cover of all of comics. wow, surprised to hear you say that....while bb28 is cool, it wouldn't even scratch top 20 for me... (maybe top 50)
19. I haven't looked that closely but my guess is 4-10 would very closely mirror the 2.0 4-10 But I will give it some thought shortly.
20. very few books these days even raise my eye but those three boil my blood (in a good way )
21. Cap 1. The tape on the Tec 27 would bug me Absolutely. The Tec 27 is really a 1.8 that got the 'magic tape bump'. otherwise, the ASM 1 is the best investment. it was a 1.5 when I first bought it Bummer. What's the difference it value between a 1.5 and a 2.5? today value diff is 50k-75k At time of purchase (4 yrs ago) diff was 25k
22. And I am the one who bought it. Thanks again, Rick! Chris was a smooth deal! I think it is a heck of a book (especially compared to the 5.0)
