  1. I think there are many sellers out there that are not approved to report. Only George can speak about that. I have said all along that gpa is a great tool but with restrictions of private sales that occur at the volume they do, only makes someone really have to have "connections" to get the big picture.
  2. I paid in that range for a restored 5.5, so the price varies widely on this book indeed. I paid 1950 for my 3.5 a couple of years sgo
  3. at one point I was reporting to George but quite honestly It was more work and effort then I had time for. I would probably be more suited to report now but honestly haven't approached George since I dropped the ball the first go round.
  4. Availability of ss6 is sometimes limited. Unless you know someone with one for sale generally a public avenue is best to locate As for price my guess is 2-3k likely depending on if you can even find one
  5. National 39 is cool too. Catman 19. Tons of great hitler covers
  6. Seems as if Harvey Romance "file" copies might be an exception. Prices on those seem pretty low -- often too low for sellers to send them to CGC. diff bw availability and lack of...
  7. another good one...I just don't own one
  8. one gator for sure (shariff floyd, likely top 5)...possibly matt elam in first round or early second... gators have 6-10 nfl prospects this year ... Luke J seems to be most folks #1 Mel Kiper and Todd McShay both just moved Eric Fisher to the #1 spot. McShay was live on ESPN a few minutes ago and said that if a couple of trades happen that moves things aroung, Luke J might even drop out of the top 10 (but not likely). cool...I honestly haven't paid attention in about a week
  9. I sold a cgc 5.5 ow pager last week for 7995

  13. We are so used to seeing St John romance in mid-grades and many never in high grades. So we pay high grade prices for mid-grade books in this niche, and sometimes cant quite figure out how to put a true value on the rare high grade copy. So they can fluctuate wildly. as I am sure most knows, this same principle can be applied across virtually the entire golden age, especially the smaller publishers (thumbs u
  14. Pretty much all ga in hg has And continues to move up. It is not limited or restricted to certain genres or niches
  15. Kdfs are nice. Had all of them... Less "great" covers (couple of stunners) and weaker interiors on some but a cool run none the less
  16. There is no doubt amf, aman and funny pages are my fav centaurs !
  17. Matt baker certainly has a strong following, and his books, in nice shape, do command more today, than "yesterday"... but, they are still very reasonable, for the most part
  18. as far as growth, you answered your own question with your 2 points...as far as opportunity, now is a great time to pick up these books because prices are realistic , with no real reason for them to jump start increases (bad for investment, but great for the collector in you!) Sounds good. I'm just a collector. (I'm too dumb to be an investor!) when I sell a new comic in my stores, I am selling 'entertainment"...in other words, it is disposable income spent, same as a movie, or ball game or concert... however, when one spends , say $50 or more on a comic, you have to look at the "ROI" as far as the tangile (value) and the intangible (enjoyment/entertainment) aspect... so, anytime one spends high 2 figures, or 3 or 4 or 5+ figures for a comic, there is a tangible "investment" component... 20. I was comparing it to my 6.0 copy and it looked spot on... maybe even a little bit nicer... now if only I can buy it success...I was able to buy the book today Congrats! Will this be a keeper, at least for the time being? given that I probably paid way more than I could sell it for I would say "keeper"
