  1. Very cool looking GL! Actually all these on the past few pages look awesome... I need to go through this thread more often.
  2. This came out looking great! +1 Great job with the lettering and line weights!!!
  3. I think I like Action 7 over Action 1 as a 'first app' cover... And Mike, congrats on the new acquisitions!!! And that Action 7 (5.0) is a gorgeous looking book!
  4. How are you liking the wides so far? I just have the black now (I just noticed they put out some colored versions.) I like it. It does a great job for large gestures and filling in space. I actually used the tip at an angle for some of the details on this. I could see picking up a few in grey tones for backgrounds. I like to think of it as a copic pallet knife. I might have to try that out - I use a Sharpie magnum for laying down big areas of black but between the stench and the overlapping lines, I'm trying to find something a bit better. Yeah. I picked mine up at a local Michael's (craft store) for $4 (after a 50% off single item coupon.) Why are Copics so expensive anyways? Yes, they're good but I don't find them to be that much better than the old Letraset Trias (RIP) with the literal TRI-TIPS... And they are water-based, no? They are water-based, and I'm not sure what the difference is between them and the old Letraset markers - as I've never used the latter. Looking at the Letraset markers, my guess is that they lay down ink like Prismacolor markers (very opaque and saturated) - the Copics lay down color in a more translucent fashion, and allow for more build up of color to achieve maximum saturation. How this translates into being more expensive, I'm not sure. They are kinda pricey outside of Ebay, but if you know the color you want, and you can wait - you can usually get them from $3-$5 shipped on the 'Bay. Michaels has them for $8 a whack, and I only go there if I am in dire need of a color immediately. That would be a difference... the Pantone / Letraset Trias seemed to have more saturation than Prismacolor (which I really liked) but in terms of building up color, you're not going to be able to do much.

  6. Bought a bunch of Megos from Michael and couldn't have been happier with the deal all the way through... Very easy to deal with and courteous!
  7. This is news... just reading now and I'm at page 2 of 69. Can't wait to see where this leads!
  8. Greg Reece has a beautiful copy... http://www.gregreececomics.com/Comics/2697
  9. I'm not sure if I can phrase this correctly, but I'll try. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman built DC from the 40's through the 50's... Could it be said that the Justice League of America propelled DC through the 60's, 70's and some of the 80's? For the record, I love B&B28!
  10. That sounds about right to me BUT the inner features (eyes-nose-lips) look too perfect! I'm very impressed to say the least...
  11. I found out this weekend that this was one of the first books my father bought off the newsstand in 1958 when arriving here to the US from France... I guess I'll be sending mine in to be graded soon. I'm thinking it'll come back a 3.0.
  12. Nice looking book Michael... Were you thinking a 5.0? And that 7.0 is very nice indeed!
  13. Exactly... HRN= Highest Reorder Number (I believe) So whatever the last book listed on the BC is... the number that corresponds to that book is the HRN number for the issue you hold in your hand. AJD's example is perfect.
  14. In my opinion you certainly made the right choice! Congratulations...
  15. These are great!!!! Love the 'Dice Demon' and 'Shiver-Ross'... I have a feeling those Happy Little Trees might have a bit of debauchery up their slee...er...trunks!
  16. Only 1 but it's a beauty... And your sig line is starting to look like the SA Hall of Fame!
  17. ... That's EXACTLY what I was going to post before I scrolled down. Yes, great splash and I can see why it graded as a 3.0. I was going to say maybe it would be worth a resub but it was just graded in June of this year. Very nice book nonetheless!
  18. Judging by the FC, I'm not sure why that's only a 3.0... GREAT eye appeal on that one!
  19. Beautiful work and a fellow Great War historian/fan!
  20. Another great piece and as Dice pointed out already... Matthew's work looks even better in hand!
