  1. Shipment from IST finally showed up. USPS slowdown is no joke! Happy these are finally here. My Surfer Omni and Absolute New Gods are still floating around out there somewhere.
  2. Epic haul from the KY GI Joe Fest this weekend. Haven't had a chance to sort through the stack yet (been too busy packing/shipping all of the things I sold to pay for this stuff) but there are lots of goodies hiding in there. Will share my typical long winded posts breaking it all down the next couple of days. In the meantime, enjoy playing Where's Waldo with this mountain of plastic!
  3. Nice! I was set up at a Joe show this weekend and saw the Classified figures out in force. They're definitely neat, but I'm staying strong (so far) and sticking to my "I only collect vintage 3 3/4" guys. We'll see how long I last before I cave. Beach Head looks pretty friggin' awesome.
  4. I always liked this one. Sold my copy last year, probably should have kept it.
  5. Definitely don't pay scalper prices, these are probably going to be plentiful in store. Street date is 8/14, but some folks are already finding them. There are several pics in the FB groups of peg after peg of the figures. Some have been able to purchase, some say their Targets are sticking to the street dates. But I don't think supply is going to be an issue with these. Good luck!
  6. Sweet! I still need a Steeler for my MOBAT. I've got the helmet and visor, just need the figure. Great set up!
  7. Exactly what I was going to say. I know the Board's influence on speculators has waned in the age of FB, Instagram, spec websites, etc but there's no question that the Boards brought these books to the attention of many collectors. It seemed like it was a challenge to find one so you could post the pic here, then we'd all laugh, and then everyone would go back to their lives. I've been hunting for Alf 48 and Rifleman for 10+ years because of reading about them here. However, I won't pay more than $1 for Alf. I'm convinced he's out there in a dollar bin waiting for me to find him.
  8. Brother, you ain't kidding. Took a looooong time, and wasn't cheap, but it's mine! @Parabellum Aliens Club High Five!
  9. I don't actually, literally hate comics. This was a humorous exaggeration, you see.
  10. It's a great book, I've still got my beat up copy from middle school. I think the unusual size lends it to being relegated to the world of "magazines", which a lot of collectors have an unusual disdain for.
  11. I searched for years, finally a good boardie helped me out several years ago. Maybe a boardie can help you out too, good luck! The #2 is the REAL tough book. That one took a few more years to track down, and I got it part of a huge trade. Wasn't cheap.
  12. Sometimes I read this thread and think "Huh, that's interesting, good to know. I'll keep an eye out." But most of the time I read this thread and think, "Man, I hate comics."
  13. Completely agree. In fact, I think that was sort of the selling point at the time: if you want to appreciate that "Widescreen" Hitch artwork, you need the Absolute!
  14. I got the very first edition of Absolute Authority, which at the time was, I THINK, the first Absolute produced (I'm sure I will be corrected here.) I remember hunting all over town to find a shop that had it. I believe that the time it was $50, which seemed very pricey, but I had to have it. Eventually sold it when it went OOP and prices went up. I never have gone back for it, and I really need to before I can't get it anymore! (And this may be Chicken Little talk. DC may not care one way or the other, if the books sell for them. But I think I'll err on the side of caution this time.)
  15. Planetary is great. I need to pick up the Omni before it goes out of print, I'm wondering if Ellis' recent troubles will see them let this stuff quietly go away. Need to grab this one and Authority as well.
  16. Back when I was buying new stuff, Popfindr and Brickseek were pretty handy, but as you point out, not always accurate. But they'd at least give you an idea of where to start looking.
  17. That Storm is gorgeous, but it's almost a relief to know that I don't collect ML anymore, so I don't have to worry about tracking one down. If I ran across one in a store, I'd be sorely tempted, though.
  18. There's a guy on eBay who sells custom capes for Doom and Magneto, they're pretty sharp.
  19. That's pretty sharp! For my money the original Bowen Surfer is still the one to beat, and is one of the best statues anyone has ever made. Very simple yet so lovely.
  20. I used to have one, the sloped windshield looked similar to me. Maybe it's a kitbash of some or several of the ML bikes. I expect we'll see all of that stuff repurposed, particularly the military bike that was in the Captain America Riders set.
  21. Yeah, a bazillion folks in the FB groups were complaining about it today. Luckily I'm not collecting the line so it didn't affect me, but I certainly feel for everyone who missed out. I guess Bots struck again. It's crazy. I agree completely, I thought this was what Pulse was for. Hopefully they'll get more in, or they'll at least be available in store when the time comes. It is neat that they're making some vehicles for this line. Is that a redeco of the bike that came with the Marvel Legends Black Widow Riders pack?
  22. I used to pick the platinums out of dollar bins all of the time. I assume people just weren't paying attention. I don't think it's hard to find, but it's definitely a great Biz cover and the platinum looks gorgeous on it!
  23. I've never read it, I remember it was kind of a big deal at the time since Mark Hamill was writing it.
