  1. The site was never down for me, I just kept getting the announcement/countdown redirect page (which I'm still getting). I've never known one of his sales to start "on time". I usually just check it on and off throughout the day starting on the date that he announced. It'll probably be updated within a few days. We go through this every year, and we all understand the limitations and we all have our suggestions for how it could be bettered. It is what it is.
  2. He sells direct. I've bought from him. He's very busy though and difficult to get in touch with sometimes. First contact is usually through Twitter. He's a nice guy but persistence is key. Thanks, really appreciate the responses everyone!
  3. That's just a puff piece to cover their asses. Smoke and Mirrors. Gave me the same exact vibe.
  4. Doubt it, though that'd be nice. I treat the whole thing like a treasure hunt; might turn out to be a wild goose chase, but I enjoy the dig.
  5. FYI, been clicking around a bit on the site, and while everything isn't updated obviously, there are several of the individual artist pages that were updated as recently as last week, many are 12/1 or around 11/29. So, may be worth poking around.
  6. As has been noted, the message on the site says it's closed until 12/14, so I'll start checking it regularly that morning until it probably actually goes live the following week. I've already got a list of pages I'm interested in, but as in past years, have prepared myself for the eventuality that they are probably long sold. Maybe he'll roll out a totally refreshed site with up to date stock when the sale hits? I can dream, can't I?
  7. I don't normally keep up with TF stuff, but I read all of the More Than Meets the Eye and Robots in Disguise books, and really enjoyed them. Does anyone know is Milne sells his originals, or if he has a dealer?
  8. Official Thread Winner! These are the sorts of finds/stories that keep me digging out there!
  9. This is my kind of obsession. So glad this got bumped up! Great work!
  10. The venom cover nonsense spiked that one to the moon, but the rest are still pretty reasonable. Looks like the shills are starting to try to pump the Sif ones sadly. I've got multiples of everything but love adding to my collection. If you ever want to sell your run (excluding the venom), shoot me a PM. Will do, but I think these are keepers for me. Big Sif fan, really enjoyed the storyline, and just generally loved the design, color palette, and everything else about this run, both the regular and variant covers. But if I decide I need some cash, I'll hit you up first!
  11. I've also never seen that book in my life. Cool cover. Picked this book up along with the final few issues of all of the Punisher books (War Journal, War Zone) for 50 cents each at a LCS sale a few months back. Sold them on eBay and was a bit surprised how low they came in, but auctions have been dogging it for a while. Should have BIN'd them. Where were all you guys back when I was selling???
  12. I saw a couple of the earlier sales when I was making my buys on 21/22, part of the reason I cleaned out a couple sellers who had more than one (save on shipping). Collected them on and off for a couple years and didnt like some of the price action on the Tan variant. Hate that the Venom one got sucked into a craze, felt pressured to make sure I got more before similar nonsense happens to other ones. Certainly didnt want to contribute to it For instance, one my purcahses: http://www.ebay.com/itm/172378058873 That's one of the ones I bought, and I see one two "sold" in the week since my purchase from a shill account for 3x as much: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Marvel-Journey-into-Mystery-Variant-Comic-Cover-Mint-650-only-400-made-/152322206609 and now someone is offering it for a cheap 17x what I paid: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Journey-Into-Mystery-650-Variant-1-50-Marvel-Comic-Book-400-made-NM-Thor-/262733233346 That's a great example BIN shilling. That $65 is bull spoon, and anyone who even considers paying $350 is a raving lunatic. I bought it at $25US a week ago, with multiple available, and no one interested. Ebay shilling is outta control. Cool to see these books get some love. I adored this run and bought every variant and regular issue as they were released via DCBS. Sitting on a minty fresh complete run, but unless the prices get, like, truly outrageous, I'll probably just hold onto them, since they're so purty.
  13. Isn't that an automatic strike? Bingo It's worse than that.... http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=9659497#Post9659497
  14. Is anyone reading Walt Simonson's Ragnarok? I think it's a blast, zombie Thor in a post-apocalyptic Asgard. How about Alan Moore's Providence? Super creepy and deeply layered. I doubt either of these is selling much.
  15. I've been chasing Uncanny and Wolverine newsstands lately. Picked up a bunch this weekend. Fun set to collect!
  16. Some pickups from a 50 cent sale at my LCS this weekend. A couple of these Tomb Raiders I actually didn't already own. The rest just add to the AH hoard!
  17. Face looks terrible, like one of those high dollar sex dolls. Fake and lifeless. Ha, yeah, a little too much Real Doll going on in there. It looks like a very cool piece, but even with FlexPay it's a bit more than I'd want to be spending. Now, if they made a Lynda Carter in this scale/style, I'd be all over it.
  18. I did. No room for it, but I'll figure that out later. She'll look great with Batgirl and Batman. Didn't order her yet, but I will at some point. Right now I've still got Flex payments coming out for Catwoman Pfeiffer and Newmar, two hot toys figures and the Black Canary PF, so I need a couple of those to ship before I add more to the payment list. But I will get her, oh yes, I will get her!
  19. Count me in the Scout fan club, though I don't think I own any of the books anymore. But this was right up my alley as a comic reader growing up in the 80's. Love Truman's stuff.
