  1. That's, like, everything I love, all in one collection! Terrific haul!
  2. We have a terrific model expo/convention here in Louisville called Wonderfest, and it's coming up in a few weeks. Wonderfest (And no, I'm not associated with the show.) I attend every year and can't believe the artistry and skill involved in putting these things together. I have no skills whatsoever, though I've tried it a few times. I lack the patience and steady hands. But every year I think "this year I'm gonna buy a kit and put it together!" Maybe this will be the year? Keep the pics coming!
  3. Every variant that's in the new shipment of Five Below combo packs New shipment They have Moon Knight and Ms Marvel variants I've picked up several of the new shipments. Of all the books I got, 2/3 were variants, and the remaining 1/3 were 2nd/3rd prints and Secret Wars books. I don't see how there can be any question that Marvel is dumping excess stock through these packs. As for what I got, nothing mindblowing, but at $1 per book, it's hard to go wrong. Vengeance of Moon Knight 1 Finch, Ms. Marvel and Loki Agent of Asgard design variants, X-Men Deadpool State Birds Variant, Inhuman Dante variant, those are just off the top of my head. So far I haven't found anything as good as the last round of packs, but at $4 per pack they're still fun to pick up.
  4. Yeah, me too. check out the Esquire photoshoot I'd post some gifs but the wife is giving me the stink eye Did I ever mention that she's my girlfriend? I'll introduce you guys sometime.
  5. Nice! I've been able to pick up most of my later printings in the dollar bins over the years, but I haven't run across one of these in the wild. Nice book!
  6. I'm kinda in love with this. Seriously though, as an Alien and Noto collector, I love that piece. Wish I'd seen it before. Awesome pickup!
  7. [+] I've only seen this via MST3k. May be due for a virgin viewing!
  8. Amazing find. This thread was the reason I started posting on the forums, and it still delivers!
  9. I tried to do something similar at Halloween with "Satan's Little Helper". That was never repeated after the first year... One time my GF and I invited another couple over. I popped in Re-Animator, which I thought was totally awesome and funny. They got up and left mid-movie all pissed off. Another time I brought a date to a midnight showing of A Clockwork Orange. Same deal. "Take me home NOW!" I treasure those memories. My kind of guy! If they can't hang with the classics, who needs 'em? I took a first date to see "Cabin Fever". Can't say she enjoyed it, but I was still invited back to her place for awkward futon fumblings.
  10. Wow, awesome pick up! I remember seeing these in theaters, I always wondered where they all ended up.
  11. Furries are very, very, very dedicated to their, uh...hobby.
  12. Man, I wish you guys had been selling around here last weekend. Had two estate sales on my hit list. One ended up not really having any comics at all (even though I swear the listing said "comics") and the other ended up having a bunch of mid-grade bronze common books with crazy crazy crazy prices (like $30 for VG non-key issues of Conan and Master of Kung Fu, etc.) Been a while since I found a good score around here.
  13. My package from Spencer finally showed up this weekend, huzzah! I was pursuing as many pages from Uncanny Avengers #14 as I could get my hands on. It's my favorite issue from one of my favorite recent-ish runs. I was apparently beaten to the punch on several pages, but here's what I was able to grab. Apologies for the blurrier pics. Pg 4 5/6 DPS Pg 22 Death of Scarlet Witch And now that I have these, I can post the page that Malvin was kind enough to hook me up with , which arrived a couple of weeks ago. Love it! If anyone else was lucky enough to pick up pages from this issue, and are looking to sell, let me know! I've got a big tax bill going out this week, but should be in the market to buy again pretty soon!
  14. Love it. This story really disturbed me when I was a kid, but I just kept rereading it!
  15. Ha, that's great, and something I've never seen before!
  16. Very nice books Beauties! #6 is one of my all time faves. Love those early red-trunks Namor appearances!
  17. 2 of the very best the marvel age has to offer! I hope you own 59&60! If not once you read the two you have I'm betting it won't be long before you get the other two! Well now I definitely need to go back to the shop. Come on, payday Friday!
  18. Thanks guys! Now I'm thinking about going back to get some more.
  19. What a beauty. I love Johnson's stuff, have been thinking about trying to pick up a cover for a while now. Gorgeous stuff.
  20. Can't compete with the beautiful books in the thread, but I picked up a couple that I was happy with this weekend. I'd gone to an auction about an hour away, out in the "boonies", which promised a large original owner collection of bronze books, mostly horror. Arrived to find they were all water-damaged. Thought the night was a complete loss, then I saw on Facebook that my LCS had just gotten in a new collection. It was mostly mid-grade Silver with runs of Fantastic Four, Green Lantern, and X-Men taking up most of the space. Nothing mindblowing, but I thought the colors were nice, and I find it hard to resist these covers!
  21. My LCS just got in a small original owner SA collection, mostly FF's, GL's and X-Men. Structurally they're mostly mid grade, right in the VG/F area, but I thought the colors were nice for the most part. So I picked up a few. Can't resist those covers!
  22. Jessica Cruz cameo. Only buy at cover. If you can find the B&W variant, BUY IT CHEAP. Yeah, I think at cover it's a strong buy. There appear to be several BIN's hit above $20. At $8 a pop, I figure it's worth taking the chance if they're really nice copies.
